I mean, we're only 1 month late for err... Halloween? The next permanent new instance dungeon for heRO will be out soon. It will require you to have 25 Faeheim points. It's not a lot but it's not nothing either, especially if you aren't familiar with the system. Bunnies!

The yearly Easter Festivities are being hosted in Faeheim this year! On each field and dungeon map without an existing MVP, you will be able to find 1 bunny boss per map. There's 3 different types of bunnies you can find, with one being stronger physically, the other stronger magically, and the third one defensively. You can obtain past headgears from them, as well as other loot! Additionally, the seasonal gear trader in Hugel's fireworks shop has wares available year-round now with discounts on specific months, and a new easter headgear was added!

Valentine Day returns to heRO and will be here for the month of February! 3 short quests are available in Malangdo (278, 210), Morroc field 16 (232, 200) and inside the main building in Ayothaya (189, 150) for you to get 3 different Valentine's Day related costumes. The 2020 Valentine's Day quest also returns and starts in Yuno sage quest, though characters who have completed it already cannot repeat the 2020 quest. Happy questing!

The Lutia Gift Box event has arrived! You can find colorful gift boxes scattered all around the Lutia region's fields and dungeons. Each provides loot and exp, and upon smashing enough you'll receive two new costumes. Afterward, you can continue searching for boxes to obtain past christmas headgears. Enjoy!

Boo returns for a new haunt this Halloween. Accept Boo's challenge and brave the Haunted Graveyard for fabulous rewards! However, Boo is tired of your nobility gem and assassin cross cloaking shenanigans, and will only accept Novices at Novice Grounds for his challenge. Not only can you get 2 new Halloween costumes for this event, but if you performed above and beyond in this difficult challenge, you can even win one of the rarest costume in the server with your Novice's name on it! The Halloween headgears this year are: Zombie Mask Costume Vampires Familiar After Halloween, the zombie mask will be available to be turned into a costume and will be added to Wrapped Mask, while the Costume Vampires Familiar will be available in Past Halloween Gear Box.

Prontera has a lovely new look to celebrate Valentine's Day, and a Valentine's Day quest has been added! To start, head over to Hugel and talk with Tamara to start the quest. Depending on how you progress through the quest, you can earn a new Valentine's Day costume, along with other goodies, including a chance to get "Past Valentine Gear Box" to get some old Valentine's Day gears! This quest will be available for at least until the end of February. Don't forget that we also have an art contest in heRO right now as well! heRO has a huge amount of customs, so it is about time to have our own database searcher. We are introducing our own "RMS" to have a item/monster searcher into public beta testing. The mischievous spirit known as Boo is back again! They'll be trick or treating from now until Halloween ends, and may appear to players in fields, towns, or just about anywhere except the novice areas or prison. They'll accept candy, candy cane, cake and just about any kind of sweets in general. Give 'em at least one of any of those, and you'll receive a treat in return, otherwise, be prepared for a tricky treat!

Lutia Mine: Leave no stone unturned and go explore the newest Custom Dungeon on heRO! Hero's Journey 2.0: Quest your way from a new novice up to level 80 with this new and improved version of last year's birthday quest which is now a permanent addition (however, the rewards are higher during the birthday month of October). Save the Pingvis: in central Prontera you will find Pandelina who is gathering funds to save the poor Pingvis. There are server wide bonus for everyone when certain milestones are reached. Increased Anniversary Rates

Specific Decard

We are issuing a de-card option for anyone with the gear "Elemental Cape" due to misleading wordings in the item description. The cape should only boost Physical Damage dealt, not magical. Please submit a ticket to ask for a de-card. You will get to keep the card and the equipment with all refines. You must submit the ticket by Aug 21 to take opportunity of the de-card option. Please note that there are skills that do not use cards that boost damage and the items will not specify these exceptions, such as Cart Termination, Acid Demonstration, Blitz Beat and so on. GMs will not issue de-cards due to mistakes made to card for these skills with special effects. Every item will be rewritten to clarify physical/magical for all damage boosting effects, status inflicting requirements, and piercing effects by the next patch to the best of the GM team's abilities.


New ToH Headgears

Fireworks in Fortuna!

Fortuna is once again having it's Annual Fireworks Day Celebration! Bring the Celebration Girl either 10 Love You Firecracker, 10 Birthday Firecracker, or 10 Xmas Firecracker for some experience as well as some Temporary Summer Suits! You can turn in up to a maximum of 10 sets of Firecrackers per character, and once you are done you will receive a special costume! The Celebration Girl will be awaiting you in Fortuna, a special Faeheim region, for the next week. Faeheim has sent a special envoy who will meet you in Prontera to bring you to Fortuna if you need any help finding your way there. Keep an eye out for heRO's favourite mob, Masterdrops! They will be spawning in all of the Major Towns for the next week.

The server is live again! :) In Prontera you will find Pandelina who has gifts to bestow our patient heroes, because we are so so sorry for all the downtime and inconvenience!! Rates have also been increased to 6/6/4 (no change to chests staying at 3, and cards are still 5) The Control Panel is still giving us issues, so that will have to come later. For now, we have re-enabled the old _M/_F method to create accounts. This means that to create an account, I'll use username_M for a male account, or username_F for a female account, and your password in the login box when you open RO. To login again remove the _M or _F. Once the account is created, you should be able to use control panel to vote 4 points and so on. E.g. For a female account with account name AnExample and a password of ChangeIt, I'll use this to create the account: account name: AnExample_F password: ChangeIt Then to log in: account name: AnExample password: ChangeIt

The town of Hugel is holding a special event this year! They've released turkeys carrying bags of special loot all over Schwartzvald's fields! Beat the turkeys for a chance at winning all sorts of goodies, which will change sporadically until November is over! The turkeys respawn 10 to 15 minutes after being defeated, so you have plenty of chances to obtain loot! Have fun!

- Halloween Quest: Lord Huppal has been living quietly for a few years, sadly his manor is invaded again, by several ghosts and a witch, poor guy. Find him in Prontera to assist him!

Important Notice

A bug with the new client seemed to slip through the cracks in which character names 19 characters or longer can cause the game of everyone with @Main on to crash when sending messages to #Main or @Main. For now and until the issue is fixed (which won't be anytime soon), character names 19 characters or longer are not allowed. Anyone with existing characters that meet this criteria will receive a free rename from GMs, just send a support ticket with a list of all chars that should be namechanged. Needless to say, anyone found abusing this bug will be severely punished. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for everyone's continued support throughout all of heRO's 15 years!


New Client & Other Updates

Many changes took place in heRO during August, including a new game client! These changes are so big that many current game files will no longer work, so we decided to do a complete overhaul of the full installer as well. Fortuna's Fireworks

Fortuna's annual Fireworks Day is approaching, and the Celebration Girl needs your help to prepare. Bring her either 10 Love You Firecracker, 10 Birthday Firecracker or 10 Xmas Firecracker for base and/or job exp, plus temporary summer suits! You can hand in a maximum of 10 sets, and once you're done, you'll receive a special costume! You can find the Celebration Girl at Fortuna town in the Faeheim Region. If you don't have warper access and don't want to travel, an NPC in Prontera near the warpers can take you there. The quest will be available for about a week, so don't procrastinate!

As social distancing and stay-at-home recommendations/orders continue for many if not everyone, heRO's rates increase continues!

- Item drop rates at 4x will continue as previously increased (does not apply to Castle Chests)
- Card drop rates are increased to 6x (does not apply to MVP cards and angeling/deviling/ghostring cards)
- Exp rates are increased to 6x (For base, job, and quest-granted exp)

Culvert Cleaning!

Malangdo Culvert is now available! Help some poor cats clean the culverts to receive coins, which can be used to purchase special weapon enchantments, or a few costumes! This instance dungeon has two modes, Normal and Hard, and requires a party of two to complete. The entrance to the culvert is located on the island just next to the one with the Malangdo Dungeon entrance.


Reminder regarding GM Impersonation

Recently we had a situation with a GM impersonator creating discord accounts, one of which was named "Sectaewt#9755". The impersonator copied GM-Ciar and GM-Ayu's profile pictures in order to attempt to have people download Teamviewer with the promise of turning them into GMs. They spectacularly failed in explaining the need for "secret" "interview" accounts that used the same visible name and avatar as GM's regular accounts, however. If you were messaged by this person we recommend reporting them to discord for spam. The heRO GM team would like to remind players that GMs will NEVER ask you to download Teamviewer, and will NEVER ask for your account passwords or bank information. A real GM will be able to nuke you, spawn monsters, or speak on the #announcements channel in discord.

It was not long ago that HeRO celebrated its 14th anniversary, and now we're entering the year HeRO turns 15 years old. Throughout 2019 the server saw the release of the Bio Lab's 4th floor and Bifrost Tower, the full revamp of Muspelheim and the Reset Master, the return of Morroc's old fields, many retouches to the Battlegrounds, Bee Wings and Thanatos Tower, big updates to pets and WoE, and the revamp of the class training quests to help players just starting out in HeRO, new headgears and costumes for the hat lovers, and so many quality of life updates that we don't even know where to begin with. As always, we're very grateful for your love and support throughout the year, and we will continue delivering the entertaining RO experience you stay here for. We have quite a bit of content and surprises planned for 2020, so don't miss out! Holiday Rates Increase!

Enjoy the holidays with a small rates increase! From now and ending on January 1st, the rates have been increased to 6x 6x 4x! Additionally, the wars of emperium happening on the 25th of December and 1st of January are cancelled due to the holidays. Last but not least, throughout the end of the month we'll be having a few small events here and there, in addition to the larger-scale events that are part of "The Seer's Dilemma" chronicles storyline! October is almost here, and with it comes HeRO's Anniversary! This year the server turns 14 years old! To start off the celebration, the birthday minigames are available in Fortuna town, where you can win one of four new backpacks once you play enough minigames! Pandelina can also be found in Fortuna, offering the usual backpack lottery plus a choice to craft one of three high end backpacks. Additionally, there are two halloween quests available this year, starting in Prontera! In one quest you help a very forgetful bathory with a potion recipe, and in the other find out who or what has been attacking the residents of Malangdo. Stay tuned to forum and discord for updates on the different events happening throughout October, and a million thanks for you heroes' support over the years!


Birthday Approaching!

As you know, HeRO turns 14 years old in October! In addition to the treats we have prepared for you, which will be announced soon, we would like to get a new RMS review daily for the whole month, as a sort of birthday present for the server! Every day starting October and ending in November, we'll remind players about it on forum and discord, and we will pop up ingame and talk to players about reviewing if there's been no reviews that day. Keep in mind that reviews are fully optional and you won't receive anything for it, other than the joy of helping hero grow. There's many other ways to help HeRO too. You can invite your friends to play, remind old guild mates about the server, or if you know of anyone looking for a pre-renewal low rate server, tell them about us!


Beyond The Bifrost

New lands continue to be discovered as the Midgard Expedition Crews advance further into the Ash-Vacuum! A green field was recently discovered beyond the Bifrost, with a mysterious structure located at the edge. Now, Eclage Field and the Bifrost Tower Dungeon are available for all to explore! It is a full magic focused area where players can effectively ignore physical defense and deck out as much magic defense as possible, and must also do damage with magic. Midgard's annual Fireworks Day is approaching, and the Celebration Girl needs your help as she prepares. Bring her either 10 Love You Firecracker, 10 Birthday Firecracker or 10 Xmas Firecracker for base and/or job exp, plus temporary summer suits! You can hand in a maximum of 10 sets, and once you're done, you'll receive a special costume! You can find the Celebration Girl at Fortuna town in the Faeheim Region. If you don't have warper access and don't want to travel, an NPC in Prontera near the warpers can take you there. The quest will be available for about a week, so get cracking!

Summertime Rates Increase!

From now until approximately July 15th, the server's rates will be increased to 6/6/4! As usual, this exp increase applies to quests, and drop rate increase applies to item-dropping gear, etc., but not to castle chests. Non-boss cards drop rates are increased to 6x. This was planned to occur halfway through the month but we're adding it earlier as compensation for today's downtime. Have fun!

Early Happy St Patrick's day! For the remainder of March, Colossal Fabre will spawn in Izlude, Geffen, Payon, Alberta, Aldebaran and Morroc. These drop a variety of loot and headgears! Talk to Patrick in Prontera to know when a particular town's fabre is alive or has not respawned for easier huntings! Technical Note: These fabres spawned at double size actually have double attack, rate, stats, exp and drop rates of what @mi shows. So just multiply whatever you see in @Mi by 2 for the correct numbers.

Fairy Auction PVP Pack News

As per the latest fairy auction, which the Killer Instinct pack was a part of, the Neko Island map has been chosen to become PVP enabled for 2 weeks. If you die you will lose exp. PKing (Player Killing) will be allowed. All server rules are still in-place, no KSing, no Mob-Dropping, etc. Additionally, the "Double Double" auction pack winner has chosen that Creeper Bow from Alphoccio in the bio labs have a double drop rate, therefore it now drops at 0.90% up from 0.45%. Happy killing!

Ages ago, the home of Midgard's fairies, the Faeheim Archipelago, was destroyed. Their inhabitants fled to the Sky Islands near Moscovia, and remained shut-off from most of the world who had once gone to war against them for their treasure. Centuries of hardship later, the new queen, Pixie, reestablished relationships with the human nations. Through the Fairy Auctions, they gained enough zeny to build a new home, and so an expedition crew lead by Pixie's sister Lucretia set out 3 years ago to find a land worthy of becoming the new Faeheim. After discovering an uninhabited territory near the old Faeheim archipelago, construction began. Now, Faeheim is finally open for everyone to visit, promising new adventures, stories and fun to all! Talk to the Faeheim Envoys in Beacon Island, Alberta Docks, or Fairyland (now named Caerulia in the warper menu) to explore the colorful lands!

There's been some changes to Poring City & Islands! First off, the item drops, difficulty and exp of true poring island has been rebalanced, and 2 quests have been added to Poring City: Green Apple Hat Quest and Cow Hat Quest! Additionally, Bloop is now an immobile NPC (yay!), and the access quest to Poporing Island has been replaced with a simple NPC warp for a small fee! The next server-wide milestone rewards for the City Reconstruction Lottery have begun. Drop rates have returned to normal, and 3 Special MVPs make their appearance: Creamy Queen now spawns at Umbala Field 01, Taffy spawns at Mjolnir Field 01, and Reaper spawns at Nameless Island/Cursed Abbey F1! Use @mi ingame to look at their stats and drops. The next milestone of 5 Boosted Monsters of GMs choice will begin soon and take place concurrently with the MVP spawns, so stay tuned to the MOTM thread! If you are struggling with the reaper, perhaps magic from an element that its attribute isn't normally weak to may help you in halting its ghostly fury...

Lutia Reconstruction Lottery

Lutia needs you, or your zeny, at least! They are preparing to invite everyone back to their home, but need [size=x-small">a little [/size">additional funding. They estimate 300m should be enough! But don't despair, there is a chance for cool items with each 100k donation, and server-wide bonuses are rewarded for every 50m milestone. Each bonus lasts 3 weeks, and only one is active at a time. The Lutia Reconstruction Lottery NPC can be found in Alberta to the right of the Save Girl/Warper Boy. More information on the rewards can be found there.

Buying Stores!

Buying Stores are now available in Alberta! An NPC to the right of the warpers will sell purchase permits, which you can use to open a shop to buy items! You must have one of items you want to purchase in your inventory, and you can buy up to 5 items at a time. You cannot buy gears or player-named items, IE brewed pots. For gears, cards, or whatever is not possible to buy through buying stores, you can still use the Bulletin Board System!


Bifrost & Hazy Forest

Both the Bifrost Bridge and Hazy Forest are now accessible! Head north from Splendide Town in the new world to reach the Bifrost, where you can find the unique monsters Miming, Angra Mantis, Pom Spider, and Little Fatum! At the Hazy Forest, you can find the monster Parus, as well as the MVP Lost Dragon, who has gone mad due to being tormented by Kushiel and Surtur!

As per Fairy Auction's "Boss Gamble" pack results, Midnight Jack will spawn in Glast Heim Castle F2 (gl_cas02) every 2 to 3 hours, and Grass Mutant will spawn in Comodo Field 05 (cmd_fild05) every 2 to 2.5 hours! They will stop spawning about a month from now. Be careful when travelling in these areas!

Happy Holidays, heroes! A big winter quest is on its way early on in 2017, but meanwhile, some changes occurred in Lutie! Santa's Representative in Aldebaran is finally retiring, and so the new Lutie warpers have stationed themselves in Hugel and Alberta, in addition to Aldebaran, and will warp you to the coast of Lutie! In this new field, lutia01, you can find many snow bunnies and mastermarin, as well as the regular lutie field mobs. But that's not all, now the Toy Factory is accessible from the new field north of Lutie! On said field you can find santa porings and santa poporings, as well as Laurie, who will create a Husky Hat for you! Not all is well in Lutie however, as Santa's Toy Factory has been haunted! Talk to Santa's Assistant in the Toy Factory's entrance to F2 to help him out!

Flooded Yggdrasil's Root

Despite having been defeated several months ago, Kushiel still clings to life within a newly discovered area of Yggdrasil's Root. At nyd_dun02, near the entrance to the next level, you can choose to enter a flooded region of the root. Near the end of the road, you'll encounter custom monsters, such as Dreamstone Golem, Dreamstone Crystal, and the monstrous light allegiance radical, Kushiel!


Pyramid Nightmare

After an ancient artifact was stolen by Ostellos and Eudoxie, the magical energies of the Pyramid accumulate in the lower floors, causing the monsters to become more powerful from time to time. The reboot has finished! There's been new additions and fixes, mainly revamped warper and save NPCs, fixes to @restock and crazy merchant, and the addition of a new custom quest: Shavenz Quest! Help him prove that there's a big octopus lurking in the comodo sea!

There's some updates this last reboot! First off, the @restock command was added. You can add an item to a list and withdraw it from storage automatically when you walk near a Kafra. There is also a new NPC near the Prontera Tool Dealer, Namingway! He'll handle name change requests if you have a GM service ticket. Crazy Merchant is now an NPC, and can be disguised as any NPC or monster, so be on the lookout! Also, the Celebration Lady is in Brasilis for a limited time, near the Healer and Banker. Give her some fireworks to obtain some exp and summer suits! Last but not least, the town of Dewata, it's fields and dungeons are now accessible! Talk to a sailor in Alberta's docks to travel there!

Spirits in Niflheim

Recently, Niflheim has seen an increase in the population of spirits. Experts cannot quite determine the cause for it. Some theorize it's a natural phenomenon, while others believe the balance of life and death in another realm has been disrupted, causing the land of the dead's flow of souls to increase. New Quests & Small Fixes to Bugs!

There's a few changes after the most recent reboot, heroes! First of all, there's a new quests for the following headgears: Fairy Flower, Necktie, Hair Brush, Baby Angel Statue, Frog Hat, Loner Boxes, Peco Peco Headband, Goat Horns and Rideword Hat. There were also several changes to existing new world quests, and the addition of Manuk and Splendide quests. Even the Cat Hand feature received a revamp! As if that wasn't enough, one allegiance quest called "The Crimson Curse" was released. It begins in Amatsu! Last but not least, as the end of the "Judge, Jury, Executioner" RP storyline reaches its end, a quest is released. Help track down the Golemancer and figure out his destructive plans for the Dark Allegiance!

A big update for our heroes!

First there is a new client including the storage search and improved battle mode. Secondly, there is a Styla update (including a short optional disguise quest) and a new quest: the Guild Storage quest. Additionally the server rates are increased for the month of October to 7x/7x/4x also including boost to quest exp (7x), homunculus intimacy (3x) and exp bonus per party member in share (40%). Lastly there are various improvement to the War of Emperium and Battlegrounds, including more exp, new & better rewards and no more MVP cards in WoE/BG. Hello, heROes! Here's a little bit of PVP news that I think you're going to enjoy. For the month of March we're offering some discounts to some pesky prices that you PVP players are faced with. Hope you all enjoy these temporary changes!

- Discount for Battle Ground Keys, previously they were sold for 40 WoE Points are now on sale for 30 WoE Points through the WoE NPC!
- 25% Discount for Become A Mob, previously sold for 2,000 WoE Points is now on sale for 1,500 WoE Points through the WoE NPC!
- 50% Discount for Battle Ground entry, previously it cost 50k Zeny and is now lowered to 25k Zeny per entry! Be sure you have 50k Zeny on your character, because the NPC will check that you have 50k Zeny, but it will not consume 50k Zeny.
- 100% Discount on Warping to WoE Castles, previously cost 1k Zeny is now Free! Be sure to have 1k Zeny on your character, because the NPC will check and not warp you if you don't have 1k Zeny. It will not consume the Zeny.
Also, Valentine's Quest for 2013 has been removed.

Valentine's Day & Styla Update!

Tis the season of love and as always your loving GMs have prepared festivities for their heroes. The Valentine's day quest starts in central Prontera with Pandelina. Styla was updated and contains 21 new hairstyles (11 female/10 male) and 6 new clothing palettes! February info: ToH is February 26th at 7AM, Fairy Auction is February 26th at 1 PM and the Hat of the month is "Small Horn of Devil" (mid gear +3% HP)!

The Birthday week is over, time to make place for our unique spooky Halloween Quest! It starts in Prontera (just North of the center), prepare for much craziness! Because we like to spoil our heroes the Base and Job exp increased rate of 7x will stay through Halloween week as well, however the drop rate is back to its normal value of 3x. That's not all, the Guild Quest has been improved with more rewards to make it even more appealing, it starts in the Payon castle map.

Complete her quiz on the heRO rules to obtain a Battle Manual (limit of 3 per account), and also receive a lovely hat on your first new character! - The Pledge Allegiance quest is also added, to join either the Light or Dark side talk to the Allegiance NPC in Prontera, if you have already joined either, talk to her to visit your leader Sir Melot (Dark) or Lady Thea (Light)!


Brasilis & Battlegrounds

The new dungeon of Brasilis is out, it was hinted at before, an event was hosted and it's now it's available to all, simply visit the North-East corner of Brasilis for the portal. The official quest is not yet translated, it will be added at a later time. In the Battlegrounds department, the schedule has been updated to every hour (except when there is another automated event ongoing such as WoE, Muspel, etc.) and the points can finally be spent on weapons and gears, enjoy!


Celebrations from Canada Day to the 4th of July!

Goodbye Halloween and small fix

The 2010 Halloween Quest has been removed, thanks to all who participated. To those who did not finish it, there are now warps that will allow you to leave the Haunted Mansion. In an attempt to fix a possible problem in PVP/WoE the look of the Robo Eye has temporarily been replaced. The effect of the item remains the same, only its look has changed, to a monocle!

Reaching 500!

Summer Kick-off 2010!

To kick off the Summer nicely and to celebrate getting rid of the lag that we have for a short time (June 12th to June 19th) increased the rates to 6/6/3 (from 5/5/3 before) for 1 week. Easter Extention

Easter UPDATE The race for the top 3 egg donator to Annabelle will end on April 7th at 10 PM (just after WoE), however, we are extending the time for you to get the eggs for your Easter gear ^^. So now instead of the event lasting form the 1st-7th, it'll last from the 1st-15th. This is ONLY for the easter egg quest, the EXP will go back down to normal on the 7th. This is to allow people who play casually a chance to be able to reach their 100 eggs too. Happy Hunting ^^


Malicious Site

*BEWARE* Recently, players have started receiving ingame PMs advertising a site that is made to look like heRO, along with a similiar URL. It then asks for login details. Do NOT sumbit your information to this site. If you did, please attempt to change your password ASAP via the heRO Control Panel found Here. The site redirects to a fake heRO homepage, which then says that you can get free rewards. This site is a fake. Do not follow it. If you are unsure whether a site is the genuine heRO site, always go through http://hero-server.net, and use the navigation bars to the forums, Wiki and Control Panel on the left hand side. Winter and Easter

Lots of action tonight! We started the evening with the event of the Snow Queen, once vanquished all the Snow Melted! Then followed the addition of the new Winter Lover Quest, it starts North of Lutie, speak to Leon (it's a permanent quest). Our rates are increased for the Easter week as previously announced: Base Exp increased from 5x to 7x Job Exp increased from 5x to 7x Quest Exp increased from 3x to 4x Homunculus Intimacy Rate increased from 1x to 2x Bonus for Share Party increased from 5% to 10% Drop rate is unchanged. Ninja+Gunner Gear & Brasilis

Buzzing about the Bee Wings and the Endless Tower

2 additions were made to heRO tonight. First: The official Endless Tower was added, see Captain Janssen in Alberta to reach the Tower's Island. Only 1 party may go at a time, once started a team has 4 hours. After their time is over, the people who were in the party may not go in the Tower again for 7 days. Second: the Bee Wings Quest is finally available. It starts in Mjolnir Field 3, find the Queen and do her bidding. The wings you will obtain in the end are useful for gathering particular items such as Immortal Heart, Cobweb, Alcohol and even Karvodainirol!

New ToH Map III

We were once again blessed with a cool new exclusive custom map by Kohaku for the Trials of Heroes, this one is for the PVP room where we can now host up to 4 fights at once! Additionally, the palettes used in the event to distinguish the 2 opposing Allegiance have been changed to reflect the wishes of the community, shiny white for Light and Black&Red for Dark.


Separate Retro WoE & Last Men Standing

As previously announced the Retro WoE now has it's own time slot on Sunday from??4 to 5 PM (server time) while normal WoE on sunday is changed to 1 hour from 2??to 3 PM. Between those 2 WoEs is the newly added Last Men Standing automated PVP??event! We've also added a feature to the GM-Assistant (located at 3 o'clock around the fountain in Prontera). However, seems like winter struggles to hold on to its powers as Prontera fails to completely rid of the snow. What can be the reasoning behind this? Maintenance!

We had a successful maintenance last saturday! The server is now moved on a new & better hardware and also on a new & better hosting connection. To celebrate we had a huge Infinity Tower event which was nearly lagless for everyone! Every player has to run their patcher to be able to access the new server, if for some reason you have trouble getting your patcher to work there is also a new mini-installer available in the download section of forums. Control Panel is down temporarily, we will get it back up as soon as possible. Until then players can use the _M/_F method to register.

New poring family monster have arrived! They decided to pay us an early visit for the server's birthday and will be staying afterwards. God Poring, deity of the porings, roams around Poring Island protecting his family, he is however friendly (not aggressive) unless provoked. Short downtime :(

The server that we all play on is hosted on a computer located in my appartment. An electrician is coming tomorrow (tuesday) and perhaps wednesday too to make some repairs to the building, he will cut the electricity which will result in the server going down :( I don't know at what time this will happen, all I can tell you is that I come back from work around 6 PM, the power should be back at that time and I can restart the server. Unfortunatly this downtmie is out of my control, but I'm very sorry for the inconvenience!

Some fishy friends are visiting for April Fool, they'll be gone soon, so enjoy them while they're here! Some little changes too: ~ Geffen 4 is now a "hero only" dongeon, you need to have at least 40 allegiance points to enter. ~ Moved the banker in Alberta to be close to the warper/healer. ~ A few more fixes, including healer for the toh NPCs which should speed up the process some more! Speaking of ToH, the next one is on Friday the 13th of april, I hope you're not too supersticious ;) Oh and the Helm Quest (Blessed & Cursed) is comming very soon, either tonight(sunday) or tomorrow night(monday)!


New NPC and hairstyles!

Yesterday a few new NPC were introduced: Lonely Artist: You can find him in morroc, get him what he wants and he'll give you an item. What is the item? Bring him 5 pencil case to find out! Orphanage: Granny Kathy has opened an orphanage for the abandoned children. (You can become a baby character with no parents) http://pandoraonline.net/forum/showthread.php?tid=2660 Guild Administrator: She will allow you to change leadership of a guild if a few conditions are met. -The new guild leader has to be in guild. -The new guild leader has to be online. -You must spell the name of the new leader correctly. -Woe must not be going on at the moment of the change. -You must pay a fee of 200k for the change. Tonight I'll be adding new hairstyles to the Styla Dyess NPC, 3 male and 5 female. I'll also correct some minor bugs. I've also made some slight modifications to some of the monster drops.

Well here's a bunch of news and information about the recent changes. The March patch is out: http://files.filefront.com/hero_marchzip/;6919090;;/fileinfo.html With it comes: ~ 6 new hairstyles are available (4 female, 2 male) ~ 2 new headgears I'll be introducing soon and that will drop from monsters ~ 2 new loading screens ~ all female hairstyles work with 15 colors (8 RO colors + 7 custom ones) ~ the male hairstyle "gentilhomme" now works with 8 colors instead of 2. I also made a few changes that I hope are for the best! ~ In order to help the newcommers on the server, the healer is now free until level 20! Do not bother asking me to extend that to higher level or to lower the price, just be happy about what we give you ;) ~ The previous "Quiz" NPC present at the entrance of the server has been modified to be a little easier, he will now list you the server rules instead of quizzing about them, just agree to them if you want to enter, he will also ask you to confirm that you understand basic English. ~ Since we have 3 castles for woe, there was 1 dongeon unavailable, to cope for that I added a choice menu to the guild dongeon switch. Now if your guild owns a castle you have access to all 4 guild dongeons! ~ There was a bug with the OCA (Old Card Albums) that only dropped old cards, apparently a lot of people knew about it but no one seems to have thought of reporting it! I can't stress that enough, if you find a bug, please report it, it will help make the server better. If we cannot fix it, at least we'll be aware of it. And about what's comming in a near future: ~ We're working on a patcher, to avoid people having to download + extract the patch themselves, this would be more convenient. ~ We are working on the new svn, I know the new classes and maps are long-awaited and I'm grateful for your patience. ~ The quest for the hero helms (Blessed and Cursed) is near completion. ~ I'm working on ways to make the ToH faster, the next one is March 24th at Noon! Christmas is behind us, but lots of fun ahead!

The Xmas quest was removed yesterday. As well as the holiday monsters that populated most major towns (christmas orcs and goblins, santa poring and cookies). However I left a few of our custom santa poring in Lutie ^_^ I'm planning some fun stuff for the comming holidays (Valentine's day, Easter, etc.), I'm also preparing a special hair stylist that will require a quest to change your hairstyle into custom ones and I'll probably be adding the Aerial wings quest soon.

Update: The technician came and the internet/server are back. Welcome to the new faster and more stable heRO!! In addition, the CP(Control Panel) is back!! You can find it at: http://www.hero-server.net/cp/ You can do all sorts of stuff with it, from password change, to transfer of zeny. The ladder still need tweaking, just give us a little time, the tk family class are not recognised and GMs show up in the ladders. Should you experience any problem with the CP, please report to me. TOH today + possible little downtime

Today a technician is comming over to install my new (and faster!) internet connection. It is possible that I'll have to turn off the server abruptly, if so I appologize for the inconvenience. (done) It's also TOH today, so I'll have to reboot the server to add the new stuff. (done) The TOH (Trials of Heroes) is at 1 PM server time, and the new wings are available in it, see you there!! ^_^ P.S.: I'll be removing the Xmas quest after ToH so hurry if you have not done it already!

As you might have noticed, there's lots of new stuff in the January Patch! If you haven't done so already, go download it and apply it! 2 new hairstyles for female and 1 new hairstyle for male, along with 7 new hair colors (including the much-asked black one). New gears as well, 3 pairs of wings and several heagears. I'll be updating the custom gear post soon with images, stats and availability. I've also made some slight changes to the color of the interface to give it a "heRO" feel. Dual clienting has been disabled and is also forbidden (I've asked the GMs to run thorough checks to ensure this new rule is respected, so don't be surprised if they pop up next to you and ask you stuff.) Let's hope this will be a great year for heRO! ^_^


January Patch + Test Server

I'm attempting to start the test server with someone's help, so far it's not working, I appologize for the delay ;_; Edit1: The test server is almost up, some minor stuff to take care off and it'll be there guys! Edit2: The person who was helping me went to bed a while ago (it was really really late there), I have not succeeded to get the test server running by myself, sorry everyone T_T I got the login + char server working (which is why people could get to the char screen), but that's it, after that I'm getting errors that I do not know how to fix x_x I'm giving up for today, sorry, I'll revert things back to the normal server for now. Another Test Server Day + January Patch

I'll also try to have the january patch ready by then (preparing both might be a little time-consuming, I hope I make it in time!) The Christmas Light/Dark Quest was added, it will be there during the holiday (same goes for your xmas friends!), so make sure you do it soon if you want the allegiance points as well as the cute christmas hat!! ^_^ The NPC to start the quest is located in Prontera, 7 oclock from the center. The rest you'll have to figure out on your own, but know that the whole quest can be done in Prontera city. Altough the hats are not light or dark per say, if you finish the quest the dark way you'll receive the Santa Jester and you'll get the Snow cap if you finish the quest the light way. Happy holiday heroes!! ^_^

Up-To-Date SVN test :)

Next saturday, December the 9th at around 2-3 PM, the main server will be turned off, for a day. This is the day we are testing the new svn, which has Ninja/Gunner and all the new changes from eAthena. http://pandoraonline.net/forum/showthread.php?tid=2264 On that day, you can play on a high rate temporary server (will probably be 1k/1k/1k), we need your feedback before implementing this new svn, so come and give it a try. If we have a lot of people on, I might hold a woe saturday night. I will revert everything back to the real server by sunday morning, so this does not affect the sunday woe. Important: If all goes well, you wont need to download anything, HOWEVER, your account will not be working on the test server, you will need to create a new account using the "_F/_M" method. I'll probably be doing a few reboot during the day saturday, to tweak some stuff and it might take a little time to set it up properly, so please be patient ^_^ Please spread the news in-game, as not everyone reads the forum and I'd like to minimize the amount of "zomg server is down!" :P Cheers everyone ^_^

About the server downtime today..

I'm so sorry about the downtimes we've had today. The server was still up technically, but my internet connection went down... twice >_< The problem is with the internet provider, they're having problem at the central, at least that's what they keep telling me. I'm definatly considering switching provider, I'll try and find a more stable one. I'll keep you updated on that. Until then, server is back up now, for good hopefully!


Small changes

Made 2 small changes yesterday: * Same-sex Wedding is now implemented. 2 girls or 2 guys can marry together! When registering at the npc in Prontera church, one of them has to register as the bride and the other as the groom, but don't worry, at the altar the proper rings are given. Thanx for Angel's eyes, a lovely dancer who accepted to marry me for testing purpose, our wedding and divorce both went fine, skills were working as well. * The command @changegm is now available to all players. This command allows to change guild master, it can only be used by a guild leader and the new leader must be in the guild and online for it to work. So ownership of guild may be transfered without GM help from now on, and can be done at any guildlevel. Enjoy!

There will be a maintenance on the server this weekend, most probably saturday morning very early (EST). The server will be down for about half an hour. I will be doing some testing, you may be able to connect during that period, however you might crash since you wont have the proper files for the changes I am testing. If you crash, don't worry, just try again later on (I will revert back the server to the way it was after I'm done testing), down time should not be over 30 minutes.

Server Downtime

The server will go down this morning (sunday the 27th of August) as we change the location of the computer that host the server from Ben's house to my place. I will keep you up to date on the status of the server. 8:15 AM I left to go pick up the server with GM-Boomy and GM-Feith (the car didn't break down on the way and Feith sends you all his love) :P 9:20 AM The server is now at my place, we're starting the setup. Update: Technical problem, we are missing some passwords required for the setup :( 11:55 AM We die 11:56 AM Rebirth and taking a break to pee and eat a bit. XD (Feith) 2:16 PM We've made some progress, the server is comming back soon! Thanks to boomy mostly who managed to re-install SQL! Woot ^_^ 3:21 PM I'm online with a few people who helped us test. SVN Update

As many of you might already have noticed, we have just upgraded the server to the latest SVN. As with any update there are skill that are better than they used to, some are weaker. The team developping eAthena (the emulator we are using) are trying to have it as close as possible as the real officials servers. Same goes for quests and such. We can't look nor change back every single change they made. If you feel something is wrong, I post the 3 changelogs that were produced since the last version of the server we were running. Try to search them for your particular inquiry, it will most likely be answered.

- DB changelog Mainly changes regarding, monster skills/items/forging/crafting/monsters http://www.hero-server.net/changelogs/naru6233_db.txt
- NPC changelog Mainly changes to npc/npc locations/quests/monster spawning points http://www.hero-server.net/changelogs/naru6233_npc.txt
- Min changelog All the other changes: AI/Gameplay/skills/classes/etc. http://www.hero-server.net/changelogs/naru6233.txt
*N.B. we were runing the february 3rd svn before this one. So everything stated between this date and today is most likely new or changed now. Many of the listed changes are "technical" but still some very useful informations might come from these. Some of you might have a hard time making the Biolab quest. If its the case, please be patient, we allready have identified both the cause and the way to solve the problem. We just need a little time to put everything in place. Ben

Elemental Quest released!

Yep, we're finally releasing our first customs items : the elemental wings. Some of you may have noticed all the GM were wearing new type of wings, well those are the elemental wings. Two of the four NPCs have been installed and are ready to use. Only Pheonix Wings and Arctic Wings are available at the moment. Gaia Wings and Aerial Wings will become available when we will fix all the bugs on the items. IMPORTANT : Wings are now how they should have been from the start, untradable and unsellable. Our next projects are the Zodiac Quest, then, the heRO GEAR System. We are working hard to provide you the best experience of Ragnarok. For more information about the elemental quest, look over here. New (big) patch available!

As you might have noticed, there is a new patch available since some time this afternoon. As with any launch, there has been some problems. People seems to have found all the help they needed to get it to work though since no one added me to their MSN! ;) So what's new with this release? Well, welcome to heRO 2.0! We can say that the first heRO was there to make sure we could run the server and now our own ideas are beggining to come to life. You will find in this update the first custom items. While the whole Light and Dark concept is still in the work, you can count that it's getting closer because the related wings are in there. You will also find the Phoenix Wings and the Arctic Wings. How to get them? Oh, we could not tell, you might want to go into an adventure to find the quest... Just the patch itself is the result of 30 hours of work and the result is quite pleasing. The bumpy road that have been lead by the early adopters is now smooth as silk and everyone can enjoy the sight of these wings...if you can find them. Good luck! Scott

Server Downtimes

It seems the ISP that is providing connectivity to our server is experiencing difficulties. There was a small downtime late yesterday but it came back on. This morning, the server is still down. There is a possibility that this is part of the power interruptions GM-Ben mentionned and there is a possibility that it's ISP related. Rest assured that our network equipment is tested and functionnal and our server is in great shape. We also do regular backup so your character is safe. Thanks for your undestanding. Scott

Wednesday or thursday from 8:30 to 12:00 (eastern time) there should be some power interruptions. I don't have more information as of the exact period. So expect the server to be down at least one of those two period. I wont have any physical access to the server during those periods. About the new SVN (server update)

Don't forget to UPDATE your Sakray.exe in your RO folder. With the SVN updated, many of you seems to be crashing due to the new classes and skills. All you need to do is to run sakray.exe and wait until you get all the lastest updates. Then, you won't crash anymore. If you have any problem to use your sakray.exe, use this : Old Sakray Updater. This old Sakray updater should work fine. Feith


New SVN fully loaded

Well everything is now up and working. We corrected the major bug surrounding it. Notable changes include: - Taekwondo | Soul Linker | Star Gladiator - Main chat - 2nd job quest skills - Dual-clienting/infinite zoom client - Removed christmas prontera - Added news to the patcher screen Ill include the full changelog in this news tomorrow so you can read everything that has been done since the PR1. Before to report anything as a bug, please try to check if it hasnt been made as a quest. I know for sure that some old "easily" accessible stuff now requires quests to be done. Note that if your game crash you will need to update it, either run the file named sakray.exe from your ragnarok folder, or redownload the latest version of sakray/ragnarok. New SVN (server version) - Installation completed

Some debugging is left to be done but it seems to be working fine. We will give it a test run for tonight and if everything goes smooth it should stay that way. Expect more reboot from our part in the next few days to get things straight. Please report any anomaly you find (except that weird halo in prontera at the place our custom kafra should be - allready noticed). Ok server is currently down as I am trying to update to the latest SVN (many many new features included) I announced ingame that it was to take around 30 minutes, it is leaning toward an hour. Hopefully it will be back real soon. Ben

Following today WoE we made a few update to the server namely: - Changed the Prontera Kafra back to its normal look (removed halloween skin - was about time) - Added GM-Lars to the list of GM - Added PVP warper to the middle of prontera (left to the kafra) Enjoy


heRO Server BGM (Music) Add-On

There is finally a BGM (music) add-on to our heRO Full installer. If you downloaded our full installer and want to add music to it, there is a 150mb download available at the following location: http://files.filefront.com/4609890 You just need to point the installer to your RO folder and everything will get installed. If you never changed anything while installing kRO/Sakray, it will automatically install to the right folder. Ben

Fixed job changing quests

Some players complained that the Bard and Monk job changing quests were a little buggy. Both of these have been updated to the latest version available in the SVN so any bugs should have been ironed out by the main eAthena developers. I recommend looking for help (forum, fellow players, how to, etc) before filing a ticket about a bug since a lot of players just don't try hard enough and end up blaming their situation on a bug when the quest works just fine. This morning update

For those online we had to make a quick restart to make some changes. Namely:

- adjust server time (we also automated the synchronisation with an ntp server so it should not lose its time ever again).
- Remove Santa Poring from prontera (Christmas is over)
- Remove daily WoE

News are now linked to the forum

For those that havent noticed, news on the main page and soon to be in the patcher will be linked to this thread in the forum. I had to add the news manually in the forum therefore all dates and usernames are screwed, im sorry about this. This change will allow us to post news more frequently and more easily in the future. For your information (I might be posting this a bit too soon, but having a little pressure will help evolve it faster ) I am currently working on a "roempire-like" database for monsters, spawns and items but which will be directly based on our databases. It will not come before at least a few weeks as I am working on other stuff as well and University just started but I wanted to let you know. Ben


Winter is upon us!

It looks like there was a big snow fall yesterday as Prontera and the area around is covered with snow! Villagers finally found their inner festive feelings and decorated the whole scene so you can have that "nearly in the holidays" feel too! Enjoy the visit of the Santa Porings too!


heRO Ubuntu Linux server UP!

Scary Prontera, Halloween Festival

The patch number 101 is being distributed since late Oct 21st. It replaces the original Prontera map by a custom rendition of a modified map. We all hope you enjoy this new setting and we look forward to any suggestion you may have to enforce the gruesome feeling we tried to cook up for you. Since then, we hope you get to meet the brain-hungry zombies that have decided to move in the neighborhood.

There will be a server maintenance on Sat, 22 Oct 2005 from 9:00AM to 6:00PM. This is the maximum time it should take. Server might be up longer than 9:00AM but the service can be cut at any time following this hour. The server will be up following 6:00PM for sure. Server news

Today is the official launch date for our server. After much efforts made by our GM-Team, the server finally reached a state where it is ready to be launched. Be certain that there is still much to come but the most important setting are already in place. We focused our energy on creating an experience where no classes would be put in any advantage over the others. We will also keep a close eye on the WoE. We want them to be enjoyable. The start-up GM-Team is made up for 7 people who have played RO for around two years. We have been able to carry our (previous) guild through 5 different servers which vary greatly in sizes (average of 30 players to 1500 players). After seeing them die, we decided that we can not do much worse (do not worry, we make periodic backup and our game server is located at a different location than our web server. That should ease the process of creating those back up. ;) Anyway, I have already talked too much. We hope you are going to enjoy your time passed on this server. If there is anything, such as suggestions/ comments/ complaints, you can be sure that there will be at LEAST one GM who will listen to you.
