It should not take as long as you are suggesting to get gear, due to your current price configuration and general 'hero BG' setup.??BG gear is not broken, it is not overpowered.??The speed as to which you get gear should be the same, preferably FASTER than iro servers (as everything should be faster on a server that is 5/5/3, as in, normal server too slow, so lets speed things up to make it more enjoyable).??
Yes, some people will be able to get multiple gears when most people will only be able to get 1-2 gears, GOOD FOR THEM.??If they have the extreme time necessary to go much faster than most people, they should be allowed to do it.??You shouldnt build the rewards system completely around the faster moving people, because that will just GREATLY hinder the people without the same amount of time, the faster should always be a consideration though.??This is how MMOs in general work.??
While I may be wrong, it has always been my somewhat understanding that BG in general was suppose to help balance pvp/WoE gears between old and new players.
In summary, I'm with Albus, make the price lower.

I will have to agree with the prices being a tad high.??As already stated, these items are not better than things that already exist out there.??And for armor, you'll probably need the entire set before it's even close to competitive.
I'm personally looking forward to the Glorious Ring, and a price of 1200 would mean that unless I really really camp BG (get selected -and- win), I'm not getting there anytime soon... I realize this is a horrible argument for lowering prices though.
It's not like people should be able to pop a BG a day and have a full set of BG gear within a few weeks, but months of regular attendance should be something that pays off.
The fact that you are -randomly- selected, and that the discrepancy in points between losing and winning is so high, should promote cheaper prices. Even if you're really good at attending, the fact remains that you do not control the team setup. There's a high chance you'll end up on the side which only gets one single point. One could argue that "good" players will make their team win, but right now there's quite a lot of randomness involved.

Honestly I expected weapons to sit at the price of 500 or so. Armors were gunna be like half that, especially since the body armor is stat enchantable, don't you won't people to actually obtain some decent gear at a reasonable pace?
BG keys won't really fix this problem, the fact that many of us will have multiple characters who can benefit from the weapons or armors seperately makes it very hard to justify such a high price. If I can go to BG 1-2 times daily, it should not take me a year to get one character a weapon...that's just ridiculous.

To be honest, at this moment in time my current gears will sufficiently suffice and are almost easier to get than the amount of time it will take to get BG gears. =/

Here's some info on the progress of the next BG update. The update is pretty much done, and will be implemented on the server as soon as we can get it tested and fix any bugs we find during testing.
It will feature the ability to exchange bg points for gears, an increase in the BG schedule to once an hour (except during other automated events like woe), and some bugfixes.
Here is the new list of the number of bg points it will take to get each piece of gear:
