Okay, since no one has yet ACTUALLY answered your question, here's a few things I am sure about for renewal CLIENT.

Remember, this is about the CLIENT.

Not the mechanics, or even the content... the CLIENT.

You get the fancy new "pawprint" that appears on all the skills on your skill bar currently affected by aftercast delay. Not generally relevant for high end stuff, imo, but useful to know when you can re-click that SG button w/ or w/o a Bragi, etc.

You also get the "timers" for self buffs. Every buff (and, I think, negative status) will show on the right with a bar beside it. The bar is based on a five minute timer (AFAIK). If it's full, it means you have 5 minutes, or more, remaining on the buff... as you get closer to 0 minutes the bar will decrease. Awesome addition imo.

There's a bunch more, but I forget most of them. Those were the two I kept in mind after reading about/experiencing them.

<3 The buff/status timers
Yes, negative status gets the timer too

There's also the new interface change, but dunno if that's a "Just the client" thing, or if you have to have the actual mechanics for it. Not that the interface change is all that good >_>;

Battlemode is also different. You set the keys on 4 different hotkey bars in the options screen.

Which leads to the next thing, options screen is totally overhauled to have all the weird RO functions put together in one menu when you press esc.

All of this is awesome. Btw recently on kRO they added short descriptions of each buff and debuff supposedly. I bet that'll be on renewal client for us soon enough.

Probably not. Imagine how long it'll take to translate all of these stuff... most likely renewal client will have renewed interface and buttons and all but nothing new in terms of anything to do with words.

I heard it started decreasing when it's got 30 secs left or so. Though a timer bar at all is better than nothing.

Also, the source for Kirby's textwall is Doddler.

Well, on only server with renewal client I've played it was 2 minutes.

@Kirby_Z

You didn't get my question though ...

@Others (too many to list)

Thanks for all your answers on the subject, so let's see ...

-Timer bars on buff icons
-Delay on skill shown by a pawpad-like icon
-A new shortcut window ?
-Different options ? Or Interface ?

Did I forget anything here ?

RE: Renewal Client (NOT MECHANICS) - Namine - 03-18-2010

A hefty sum of money to pay for someone to edit xray with the client (not too sure how the technicality works) =(

Hopefully it won't cost a lot like last time...

  1. Buff Timers
  2. Status Descriptions
  3. Additional, Customizable Chat Tabs
  4. New Character Page Browsing (Account Login)
  5. Storage searching/sorting
  6. More stable Quest Window
  7. (Not yet implemented into eA SVN) Party booking system
  8. Altered ESC options (& Death menu)
  9. Altered GUI/shortcuts (My favourite is F11 to hide the GUI.)

Due to the way Gravity has recently altered how its client files are handled, it's actually possible to add customs without the use of XRay for the most part. The only thing you CAN'T add just yet is Hairstyles, but once that update has happened (It's an inevitability), technically no server will ever have to use XRay ever again.

Hexing/patching/editing clients really isn't that hard unless you're trying to do something specific that cannot be done normally (An example is the XRay clients themselves).

The only clients I know of that people have to 'pay' for are the "silent" XRay Clients which mean that the gigantic XRay Version # and advertisement don't appear on login, which in itself is easy to remove manually.
