I'm a jobless bum. Icon_cry
No job = no money. Why do you think I play on private servers? Icon_razz

Not to say it's a bad idea. Just that the DVD idea has flaws too- like ^ those. Also in doing that idea though, you're cornering people into paying for the server too. And the server was meant to be free, wasn't it? Not everyone will be cornerered into it of course. But people like me- will either have to pay, figure something out, or will be unable to play anymore.

Personally, I'd love to give the bittorrent idea a try. Icon_biggrin

I meant for the idea to be an "If all else fails" kinda thing.

And hey, it's like donating. Icon_razz

We must not desesperate, there is always a way, we must find it, thats all Icon_smile

About firewall, its always possible to port foward or DMZ yourself while downloading if you have access to the router (DMZ is basically remove the firewall of your router while you download for your computer only in the network).

But the torrent idea was mostly to make sure the server doesn't have to host the download, that would cost them a lot while torrents are free Icon_smile

Its possible to download past firewall if you have the original BT client (not one of the laternative) it will just be slower than it would be without firewall.

The only exception to all this is if the person is behind a commercial firewall network such as someone working for a corporate or something ^_^. But even then, you can't normally play RO if thats your situation unless you use a proxy server which also work with BT Icon_smile

If you have a very good friend and AIM, you *CAN* slowly send over the updated stuff. A friend of mine tried doing it for another friend, but had to leave for boot before he could send all of the files.

*skims further down in replies and grumbles* Or you could use BT or a file-hosting site, and do it the simple, mass-helping way, if you want to do things the easy way! *grumbles again*
