RE: Spriting Team - KohakuSan - 01-11-2009 Meh, sorry, I always get the wrong link. I fixed it on my last post. It's here too, just to make it easier. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?wmmijtiyijl RE: Spriting Team - Cloudy-Chan - 01-11-2009 This file seems to pack grfs back, but I don't think I can add Spr files to it since it won't let me open them. I guess I have to pack up the whole grf folders into one big grf, yeah that will probably work. (I get error 2) blah *gives up* New hair and edit on page 1 RE: Spriting Team - GM-Pandora - 01-11-2009 To test their work, spriters usually use a data folder, much easier to edit and test. The person working with packing grf would usually be the admin (I use Gryff), you only need to worry about .spr and .act Get spr conview for packing bmp into spr. For any tool, I use this site, it has just about everything you may need: http://eamirror.skamfroj.net/ RE: Spriting Team - Kadar - 01-11-2009 First you need some tools! GRF Factory GRF Tool SPR Conview actOR Put them anywhere!??It's best to extract them to their own folders though.??I keep them together in a Tools folder. Now you need to rip some files.??And the rest of the guide is in Paint :D In all it's page stretching glory. PM me with questions if you have any. RE: Spriting Team - Cloudy-Chan - 01-12-2009 Thanks for the link Pandora,I was trying to find Gryff earlier someone said it would do the job, but yeah I was thinking about the data folder, but I dont have one and I forget what subfolders are inside one now, unless I just unpack all the data.grf into a data folder and then use that, that would probably mean me having to download a server to test on, I will have to get around to doing it ^_^;; Um thanks for the thought Kadar, however I know how to rip the grf and gain access to the files and how to pack the BMP back into a SPR file, the problem is, I now need to get that spr file i just packed back into the grf file ;o I actually don't have a data folder, I rely totally on heRO.grf Gryff is probably what I need to figure out or having a data folder instead so I avoid this step (but i don't know what folders i need in data folder) so I am a little stuck at this stage...I will find a way ;3 More edits on post #1 RE: Spriting Team - GM-Pandora - 01-12-2009 Nice guide Kadar. RE: Team - Sprite - Kadar - 01-12-2009 Follow the guide >.> It sets you up with a data folder and the proper folders inside. The guide is for everyone who wants to give spriting a shot. So rather than explain just the things you needed to know I figured I might as well add in the stuff you'll need to know starting out. More specifically to the problem you're having Cloudy: When you extract files with GRF Tool it creates a data folder and the folder structure inside the data folder for you. So if you extract a file from sprite/?????/?? and sprite/?????/?? then you will have the folders you need to put your hat into. All that's left is finding which hat you want to temporarily replace so you can test it on heRO. I'll make an actOR guide later so you can skip part of that and make your own .act file. RE: Team - Sprite - Cloudy-Chan - 01-12-2009 I understand your guide, I guess I could use a data folder instead, all I need now is a sclientinfo.xml file..i couldnt find one amonst the grf, I will have another look. I added a link to your guide on the first post so it doesnt get lost ;3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I am working on sprite angle two D:! RE: Team - Sprite - Alex - 01-14-2009 Neat idea x3! Just two days ago I sprited this from scratch. (I was bored out of my skull, that's when I sprite best xD) The idea was to make wings that matched each advance job's look and default personality. (By default, I mean that for example, Knights are directly related to Honor) They're supposed to be metallic /swt. But I halted this project when HeRO came back up xD RE: Team - Sprite - Cloudy-Chan - 01-14-2009 Woooo~ I really like those, most impressive, I can't sprite from scratch yet, I'm not that good haha. cant wait to see more!! Hey Panda, if you wanted that hair I made, not sure if you do or not, I can send you the spr file. |
