If you're VE-RY Lucky, go smack a few lunatics randomly and find that you have two cards that you could sell for 400k each.
But if you're not lucky you should just kill anything possible that you come across. Wild Roses drop pretty good drops and sometimes they'll just be wandering in towns so kill them if you see them. n_n

You might want to consider hunting Muka 2 south of Morroc. This spot is especially good for merchants that are training to be alchs (alchemy ingredients, and the spears they drop OC for over 8k a pop), but it may be worth it to look into it as a swordie. Just watch out for hunter fly (the red chonchon) and dragon fly (the chonchon with a LOT of chonchons with him).
If you really want to work on making zeny, A merch with OC/DC/vending is a must-have, but I would give serious thought to making said merch a blacksmith or alchemist. with a blacksmith, you can refine ores into materials and forge weapons to sell, and Alchemists can brew potions (even though many people fish, don't let that discourage you from trying potion selling if you want to!)
Making a rogue can also help, with auto-steal and steal coin.
Anyway, I hope this helps a little! The most important thing, of course, is that you ENJOY farming whatever monster you go after!

+1 what he said... Mukas really do make you rich... even as a monk i stayed there quite a lot to farm clips... clips sell for 100k a pop and is really quite useful imho...
and yes, the most important thing is that you enjoy it...
so don't be in a rush to get rich etc etc, just walk around enjoy the scenery and BGM and bash whatever you come across...

You shouldn't really need to worry about money until about late 8x, I think. Just train, the money'll come when it comes. You could always try hillwinds when you hit that level, although that place is almost-uncomfortably populated.

Here I am, I have??a couple 90+ trans, and another 2 trans around 85, and quite a few??characters??that are getting close to transing.
Merely trying to gear them/get the healing items needed to survive in the oddball places I want to level is successfully keeping my wallet flat.
