Lookin' good, guys. I can see this becoming a great help to players down the road, and should greatly reduce the amount of clutter over @main once the wiki has some meat to it.

"How do I..?"

"Check teh wiki. :D"

Also, suggestion: once the more important custom pages are covered and all that, what about compiling a pricing guide? Nothing definitive, as economies often shift, but a guideline for various items that get price checked a lot over @main. Might help streamline the buying/selling aspect.

I know I'd definitely use it, seeing as how I'm still relatively new and I don't know the prices for a lot of the items I find.

I liked your idea of the "pricing guide" it'd really help new player when they open Vendings. Some friends that are new here always ask me the price of so many things.
We could add some of the oficial quests guides too, it'd make more people access heRO's Wiki too instead of using the other sites we're used to read guides from.

RE: heRO Wiki - Loki - 07-30-2008

The only problem I see with the pricing guide is it's too opinionated. Unlike the official economy guide out there that actually pulls prices from merchants o_O. I suppose we could always do a "ranged" price guide.

RE: heRO Wiki - GM-Pandora - 07-30-2008

Once we got most of heRO's page done maybe Belial can add a General Ragnarok section for official stuff.

Pricing are really subjective, but if people wanna attempt a pricing range page I'm ok with it. Suggestion: divide it with cards, healing items, gears which would be subdivided in each category footgear, headgear, etc.

RE: heRO Wiki - Général_Argos - 07-30-2008

Buyers will write the price that they want to pay and sellers will write the price they want to sell for. Ridiculous imo. The page will be counter-edited every minute.

What could be better, is that everyone, that want to, would input a price for specific item.
The price guide would display the average value of all the inputs for the specific item.
Inputing a price would be allowed only one time per item.
Inputs 80% over or under the current average value would be discarted.

RE: heRO Wiki - Chained Chaos - 07-30-2008

Naturally, the pricing wouldn't be perfect because of the aforementioned subjectivity; I think a ball-parked range would suit me just fine. I'm all for people making their own prices, I just want an idea of where to start.

I.E., I'd rather not sell something for 1mil when unbeknown to me it could have just as well gone for 5. When you're trying to get stable, every zeny counts. XD

RE: heRO Wiki - GM-Pandora - 07-30-2008

It's fine if the range is [buyer price - seller price], it will still give people an idea of the worth and anyone who follows it blindly has only themselves to blame, everyone should know that market price are subject to change with supply and demand.

RE: heRO Wiki - Général_Argos - 07-30-2008

What you don't understand is that, range or no range, someone will have to write it. Some people won't agree with what will be written, and will correct it (in that case will change the price).

We can protect the page that way a GM can write it and people can post in the discussion area.

...And we will get in an economy dictated by gms if they are the one choosing wich price is the "real one".
