I like the idea of making it a quest to change to the orbs. Would make everyone happy, than.
As for the design, I'm with Dani and the others. One orb on each side or a few little ones on the sides of the character sound pretty. <3 If it's changed to circling around the character, I'll just stick with the original design. I don't like the idea of having anything floating in front of them.

I rather have something that acts like its on your head instead of another randomly floating thing at your back that only causes problems with different classes. Look at the first gen Dark wings on a LK. it looks like they are ears or something.. Please fix the broken things first.
And why not just have something really different like an Fire Stream kind of thing on your back.. that glows when you move.. * so instead of wings an armor kind of thing that makes your armor glow everytime you do an action or when you move. * think of the evil druid hat but then alot more minimal and like a glowing kind of thing.
But then still.. I rather have just the same wings, smaller and fixed positions.

It's not broken on LK. Peco riders just have awkward positioning, so the wings being off by just a LITTLE bit will happen. I don't see it as an issue at all.

Actually they float like half a meter away from your body, regardless on char..

I kinda like the idea of elemental spirits.
Hmm...maybe these could be designed similar to the Seraphim wings, so that the "spirit" is an animated sprite that appears when the player uses a skill?
Note: apologies if this has already been addressed. Just got home from work, and I see I've got 5 pages of this topic to go through, so I'm doing a bit of "Ready, Fire, Aim" here

Scarab Hole means being on Renewal sir.
Nidhoggur is the last non renewal based dungeon.
I guess we could technically make a custom version of it, but the items in it are meant for 3rd classes (like that one rod for psychic wave).

I still rather have all the other stuff that is on the to do list. *not that it's on a todo list but guildhouses *zeny zink much* would be awesome. (rather have guildhouses than this update kind of thing)

Yah, it would be nice to have because our caramel cards could finally be put to use. Right now a great majority of insects are lower level monsters. :s
