Anywho, playing the guitar is only nothing special if either:
- You suck and have sucked for some time (I mean, like, you've been playing for 1yr+ and you either can't play a C Maj and/or you can't keep a beat - take some lessons, you hippie!)
You don't enjoy it for w/e reason
Or you play crap like Fallout Boy D:
If you rock (or even if you can only play a few chords) and enjoy doing so, then even beating on a five-gallon drum is special.??
Never said i suckd...i play well, and luv to play when i feel lyk it...just don't play much...it's lyk, a skill i'm capable of doing effortlessly, just that i don't put much tym into it...

I never said you sucked. =p I suck. Not exponentially by any means. I can play the likes of the "Fur Elise" or his "Moonlight Sonata", but I can't solo for a sh**.
My trouble is that I've never had lessons. I'm completely self-taught with no discipline. I can rip away at your favourite Jimi, Clapton, or Led Zeppelin song; but I can not improvise. My knowledge of the fretboard is not so advanced. I know where the notes are and I know my keys, scales, and modes. However, I don't "realize" them yet, if you will.
Like one's whistle. I can whistle all day long any tune that comes to my head because I have been whistling since I was a kid. Most other people can, too. We've come into tune with our whistle. I haven't come into tune with my guitar. It's still apart from me. That sucks. Especially since I have such potential for it.
In any case, I must disagree with you, Juliet. When my neighbor comes over, picks up my $850 Dean Dime-o-Flame and pretends to play it... Yeah, that's not special.
Well, it is... But a different kind of special. =p

Whistling does count!??People call it annoying, but only if you don't use it like an instrument.??Dynamics, techniques, and all that.
Most people just blow with a constant amount of force.??Try blowing less for lighter passages, louder for more fervent motifs, and adding some vibrato!
Oh yeah! Learn to whistle while inhaling so you never have that intrusive gasp! Hooray for unique music experiences!

I whistle while inaling too! whistling songs, lol the funniest thing was when I first met my partner he said I sounded like a bird XD
