New forum signature rules? - Whispers - 03-01-2010 I mentioned this in my re-introductory post but no one said anything about it:??are there new rules involving forum signatures???I can't put images in mine at all and url codes only show up as url codes instead of hiding the code itself and turning whatever is between url and /url into a hyperlink. I know what I'm doing here, I change my signature at least once every week.??Anyone who knows me knows this (although my signature has been stagnant due to my six-month absence at Job Corps).??So, it's not some kind of coding error on my end. When I first tried I returned the Photobucket "This image has been moved or deleted" error image.??Now I only have the broken link icon for where the picture should be. Like I said, url codes are also not working for me.??Again, yes, I know what I am doing - brackets, order of codes, et cetera, et cetera.??I've worked with BBCode for a few years.??I know things. What I try to create will show in a forum post, but not as a signature.??It is maddening.??Take an example: Below is the code for a random signature (with spaces in [IMG] because even PHP shows images.??X_x).??Below that is the way it should look.??My signature is what the exact same code produces therein. PHP Code: [align=center][url=http://www.chess.com][ IMG]http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y94/vvhispers/Sig/WhispersSig.gif[ /IMG][/url] Anyone got an answer for this? RE: New forum signature rules? - Rankin - 03-01-2010 ive been having problems with mine but mine was a space between "php?" and "tid" that i have no idea how it got there. and imageshack is easier xD RE: New forum signature rules? - GM-Aki - 03-01-2010 It works in text... O_O RE: New forum signature rules? - GM-Aki - 03-01-2010 Dunno why it wasn't working. I changed it through GM magic and it works now. RE: New forum signature rules? - Whispers - 03-01-2010 Thanks, Aki!??But, that was only a sample sig!??xp Oh well, it'll work for now.??I need to make a new sig anyway.??I was recycling old sigs for a while until I made the "God's inside joke" rubber ducky stamp sig for my leave.??Hmm....o0o!??I know what I can make!??^_^ Are you going to have to wave your GM wand every time I make a new sig???That will get rather bothersome on your end.??=/ RE: New forum signature rules? - Hoshi - 03-01-2010 I've had the same problem for AGES. I managed to get my current siggy working, but I still have problems hyperlinking :/ RE: New forum signature rules? - GM-Aki - 03-01-2010 I shouldn't have to, I really don't know why it doesn't work for some and works with others RE: New forum signature rules? - Whispers - 03-01-2010 Hmm...Lemme try something... RE: New forum signature rules? - Whispers - 03-01-2010 As I suspected, it worked! Now, let me continue with the experiment... RE: New forum signature rules? - Whispers - 03-01-2010 As I surmised, the problem lies in your web browser.??Google Chrome, for me, will not allow me to create a proper signature whereas Mozilla Firefox will. Now, I wonder why? [EDIT] I've found, also, that if a line of text wraps around in the text entry box for your signature then it where it does so will register as a return instead of a simple space in your actual signature. Take my current sig right now. I had to create it in Firefox because Chrome puts a return between "signature" and "pending". Odd... |
