Any ro spriters in the community of HeRo?

If so, please post and tell me what programs you use to do your custom sprites, along with any online tutorials or help guides that you have used to become familiar with the system.

Thanks very much.

:3 Easiest to start off with an image vectoring program you are "good" with. Take some time to dabble in the creation and editing of images in both Photoshop and Paint. Paint is better for spriting, imo. Easier to navigate if you aren't good with Photoshop. Make a sprite sheet. Study the ones previously created and base yours off of them. Get a sprite positioner and position the pieces after you make them (you can get some good free downloads for that stuff on eAthena and RMS.) If you wanna keep talkin', you know my MSN bro'.

Actually, editing a bit. If you really wanna delve deeper into the whole process, understand that it isn't as simple as drawing something in paint and putting it into the game. Before and after positioning, you need to create action sequences for the sprites (like sitting, attacking, walking, etc) unless they're stationary (Like Emps and plants.. kinda). There's also the whole process of packing and unpacking ... well, I'll get into that at another time.

-Credit to the second part goes to my friend Lime for a little refresher. xD

I'm an Amateur Spriter :O And what I use is just Photoshop with a pencil tool. Each color has 8 shades to play with that you just have to put in yourself. I recommend you take an existing sprite and pull it apart then base your item on it.

For the other proper tools you'll need go here:

Get the following programs:
GRF Tool - to extract the GRF file which holds all the RO sprites
SPR Conview - lets you turn sprite files into bmp files and vice versa
actOR - to edit the acts which basically say where the gear gets placed on a character.

Those and photoshop are your basic tools you need to sprite. Actor sucks honestly but its the best you can get. Hope that helps.

Alright thanks Nara, Snow. I appreciate it :D

I am thinking of attempting to sprite a mid head gear similar to the opera mask, but themed to look like a smokie's face.

If I did so, and did whatever coding is necessary for it, could it be a possibility of having it implemented? Just figured I'd ask, before I go to a lot of trouble to create it.
