Does heRO have a vent/TS/etc? - Revenant - 04-08-2010

Last I remember, there was an unofficial one set-up; though the only people I've ever seen on it were members of that one guild. Is it still around, or is there a new incarnation?

Good question Icon_razz I think someone was hosting a channel for heRO. Not sure if it's working anymore...

i do know alot of guild have their own guild channel on vent (ours has one to) but one for the HeRO server in general... no idea tbh o__o

I heard that the vent channel that was used before wasn't too popular though...

I guess it depends on how you advertise it. But I doubt it would be used to help newbies and stuff like it usually is on other servers :<

How do you... THINK it would be used? o.O

Personally, I prefer Mumble over TeamSpeak & Ventrilo. It's open-source, meaning it has no licensing fees; its GUI is better than both, it's easier to set-up and is much, much cheaper (15 slot server for $30 a year).

But that's just me. Not that I'm insinuating anything, of course.

Well there is one. I used it for a day. No one goes on it unless you call people on. Other than that...everyone uses the one in their guilds. Icon_razz

I found the topic, I just didn't know if anyone still used it and didn't want to download the client to see if anyone did. Time for some hardcore lurking... but goddamn I hate Vent now. I've spent too much time on Mumble instead.

Mumble is too easy to hack into and gfive yourself admin and ownership of the server, also to DDOS and even delete the whole User list with admin powers so that NO ONE can get in but you, Its too lol.
Ventrillo is way more solid in terms of security, the voice quality is superb and the commanding and convenience of it is completely supreme than that of mumble.

If pandora was gonna set up an official vent, it has to be Ventrillo, since she know she cant afford to have wasted money and end up not being used or Just hacked and or make a mistake for the server of that magnitude that would end up making people leave for some butthurting reason o_o.

Uh... what? I've never heard of Mumble being hacked.

Edit: I think we're going to keep jumping back and forth between each topic. A new one looks like the best choice.
