Vending rule - NimRast - 09-04-2010 I have a couple of doubts regarding the "Vending Shops and Chatrooms" rule. Is it just me or EVERYONE is just ignoring this rule? I mean, the rule says as it follows: Vending Shops and Chatrooms "Do no set vending shops or chat within a 7x7 area (3 cell radius) of any NPC, including warps. Only one vender can occupy one cell. In Prontera, shops and chat boxes can only be set up on the side walks. Vending Shops can only be put up in a town (except for Niflheim) or maps without *any* monsters." And don't get me wrong, it's not a big deal if a merchant is closer than it should to another merchant , but if the rule exists then it should be respected, otherwise the rule shouldn't exist. Could anyone please clarify me this question? Thank you very much for your atention. EDIT: Suggestion: it would be nice that the shops were in alberta, as it is the city of the merchants. This would also improve Prontera's landscape. What do you think? RE: Vending rule - Merellis - 09-04-2010 I am not entirely sure what you're asking here. I mean it seems like you think NPC = Player Character. NPC = Non-Player Character. Players with Merchants that are vending are PC's, a person you can click on and get a text-box is an NPC, those are the ones you cannot vend next to. :3 RE: Vending rule - otohime - 09-05-2010 If you see people breaking the rules, screenshot and report. RE: Vending rule - NimRast - 09-08-2010 Ok, problem solved... Sorry I mixed up the terms NPC and PC... Thanks Merellis... xD I'm so stupid... U_U RE: Vending rule - Ngjoko - 09-08-2010 I think s/he meant the any monster part, there is wild rose in some city map. Gee, come to think about it, maybe we've been breaking the rules without realising it. RE: Vending rule - Former-GM-Circe - 09-08-2010 That's why it specifies towns *or* maps without any monsters. Although there is a wild rose, it is a town, and therefore fine for vending. RE: Vending rule - Cobbinator92 - 09-08-2010 Just wondering why can't we vend on a map with monsters? RE: Vending rule - Former-GM-Salt - 09-09-2010 For two reasons. It prevents the autoreset of map monsters that happens after no one has been on the map for 5 minutes. And people could abuse it to leech themselves by autotrading and going on another character while having both in the same party. RE: Vending rule - Jens - 09-09-2010 Leeching yourself doesn't make sense, as you go to "idle" mode soon so the ATing char doesn't get exp/loots anyway. It could, however, be used to abuse Fighting Chant but dunno what moron would risk getting banned for a little ATK bonus. RE: Vending rule - Former-GM-Circe - 09-09-2010 I'm not sure exactly how the mechanics of the +10% per party member works (I imagine it is the same map, but not sure is "idle" characters go towards it, too), but if it is a case of idle characters counting, filling the rest of your party with 11 @ating merchants on the map you're leveling on would get you a pretty bonus without eating any of the exp. However, I believe most of the reason falls to @ating merchants actually affecting the way maps act, as Salt said. |
