Trivia: Occasional Holidays part 2

April's Fool

We love to prank our players. Last year a NPC promised a popular costume, but after paying the fee the players actually got a "I am a fool" bubble headgear.

In 2009 GM-Ayu surprised players with a fake 'War of Emperium has begun !' as well as some Beelzebub disguising to give parties a scare in the Cursed Abbey.

There was also a year where we rickroll'ed players.

The best one in my opinion is when a Shady Looking Guy NPC offered players items for zeny, one of the option was slotted sunglasses, however they only looked slotted Icon_razz

Trivia: Occasional Holidays part 3

4th of July (USA) and Canada day (1st of July)
We often combined those 2 holidays since they only 3 days appart. For various years we've had a variation of players giving fireworks to a npc to receive exp and summer suits. Combined with monsters in towns that drop fireworks.

Bastille's Day (France)
We had a "French Revolution" event back in 2008.

Earth Day
To mark the occasion for a few years players could collect a special headgear (Precious Earth)

Mother's Day and Father's Day
Similar to Earth Day on some years you could collect an exclusive headgear or costume.

Although this relates to Christmas we've had Advent Calendars before, a different item every day and an extra reward for collecting them all.

Thanks, Tekkaman for reviewing heRO on RMS!

Trivia Time! The first custom monsters on heRO were Snow Bunny and God Poring.

If you have some time, why not leave a review on RMS? It helps attract new players by making us more noticeable to server seekers. More players mean more parties and bigger events!

Only a few days of trivia left! Here's a simple one: that Mr Hatter was introduced in september of 2007.

heRO Trivia time!

While you may know that the server is based in Montreal, but did you know that the first group of players are mostly all local players in heRO? In the early days when our population base is a lot more concentrated, GM-Pandora hosted in person gatherings in Montreal to meet and greet the players! Sadly the pictures are all gone now from picture hosting sites, but the forum thread is still present here as a record of the first event of its kind:

Be sure to leave us a review on RMS or update your old review (by deleting your old one then writing a new one) to support the server!

Thanks Martreus, for reviewing heRO on RMS!

(Also just want to note: We do have a card removal feature planned for a future release but it's part of a new region which has been in planning for a few years now.)

Trivia for yesterday: The "Of Fiends and Shadows" chronicle storyline featured four pieces of a mirror which connected Midgard to the Demon Realm, the land where Dark Lord, Beelzebub and The Unknown came from. This mirror portion was (very) loosely inspired by the Ragnarok Animation which featured a short scene of Dark Lord being liberated in a similar fashion.

For today's bit of trivia: The once leader of The Unknown, Altjyhra, was intended to be the main antagonist of the "Fate of The Unknown" storyline, if players had chosen different paths in the storyline. Unlike previous stories though, he wasn't meant to be "evil", despite having played an important part in the war that ended with the destruction of Faeheim's Archipelago.

Thanks, PrincessNausicaa, for reviewing heRO on RMS! Glad to hear our custom areas fit well with official content!

Today's trivia is fairly short: As of right now there's 2,049 baby characters in heRO. This includes all baby classes (mage, acolyte etc).

Trivia: if you are fairly young in your RO life (<10 years) the Alchemist class and the homunculus might seem inseparable. However, back when the 2-2 class were released Alchemist did not yet have access to a Homunculus. It took years before the homunculi got added.

On heRO someone made a poll about them back in july 2007 to ask people's opinion if we should add them or not. Most people said yes, but there were still almost 15% of people who did not want them on heRO! Change is scary Icon_razz

We eventually did end up adding them of course, in March of 2008 according to this old SVN update.
