Heroic Auras - former-GM-Pixel - 06-01-2013 04:11 PM

Hello heROes!

I wanted to share this with everyone, you could use it if you like. We might release more (seasonal) auras in the future!

Important:
- Changing an aura is a client side change, meaning you will be the only one who will see the custom aura.
- If you change your aura, all base level 99 characters will show up with the aura, not just your level 99 characters.

How to use a custom aura?
1. Download the .rar of the aura you want to use.
2. When done, extract the .rar
3. If you already use a custom aura, be sure to rename your effect folder or move it, otherwise it will overwrite your old aura!
If you do not have a custom aura yet, place all the extracted files into your effect folder:
heRO > data > texture > effect
4. Make sure your effect folder contains the following files:
- aurafloat.tga OR ring_blue.tga (if it contains aurafloat.tga rename it to ring_blue.tga)
- auraring.bmp OR pikapika2.bmp (if it contains auraring.bmp rename it to pikapika2.bmp)
- whitelight.tga
- freezing_circle.bmp (optional)
5. Restart your client or log into heRO and enjoy your new aura!

FAQ
I can't open a .rar file!
To open a .rar file you need to have a program such as winRAR, this is a free program to use and allows you to extract .rar and .zip files.

I don't have a data folder in my heRO folder, what do i do?
You can make the folders you are missing in your heRO folder.

I did exactly what the guide said but i don't see the new aura!
Make sure you placed the files into the right folder: heRO > data > texture > effect

If that doesn't work double check the file names in the folder, you should have 3-4 files with the following names:
- aurafloat.tga
- auraring.bmp
- whitelight.tga
- freezing_circle.bmp (optional)

I don't want to use a custom aura anymore, how can i change it back to the old heRO aura?
If you delete or move the files out of the effect folder, the aura will change back to the aura on this image:

Can we expect more custom auras in the future?
We will most likely bring out seasonal auras in the future.

I like the drops aura, but I think I'll stick to the heRO aura for now, it's still the prettiest to me.

I'll be looking forward to more auras :D

RE: Heroic Auras - former-GM-Pixel - 06-02-2013 06:25 AM

I'm happy to see you like it so far Icon_biggrin

I edited the heRO drops aura since i notice i had an old test file in the whitelight.tga, so i changed it to how it was suppose to be.

So for anyone who might want to use it or wanted to try it out yesterday, the file is correct now.

I think you might want to consider adding auras from this topic, since they are cute, and are already on HeRO forums. Yet still people might find them here first :D (I'm using Golden Wings aura from that topic, so just had to mention it :D )

Updated to reflect the new aura file names.

Thank you, Panda Love

Not sure if it's just me but the HeRO Drops aura has upside down particle effects. Places that use the effect like Splendide field and True Poring Island seem to have correct it though (not upside down). Didn't modify the aura files in any way except renaming them according to what Panda asked to do when we switched to a new client.
