So much hype around this game yet I don't understand what's so attractive about it. Not my kind of game i guess =p

Have never played FallOut in my life haha. There is so much hype around it tho. Might check it out. I missed out on buying FallOut 3 on Steam during the sale ;-;.

Its really more about the franchise name more than anything. Fallout started the whole post apolcalyptic gameplay setting and Bethesda started the whole open world sandbox game style. Either way its a good game that you will spend houts on (even more once the modding support is implmented) I've spent hundreds of hours on the elder scrolls and previous fallout series. Well worth the $60 imo.

well..... actually fallout kinda ripped off (or at least was greatly inspired by) a game called wasteland (arguably the first truly post-apocalyptic RPG).

thing is, fallout really jumped on the 90s upgrade in home computing and processing capabilities as well as the fact that it had better writing (or at least a dark comedy setting) compared to wasteland which was a straight/serious rpg.

don't get me wrong, i loved fallout since fallout 1 and i can't seem to get far in Wasteland 2 - i really suspect this is mostly cos of the comedy factor Laugh
