slow af loading screen - Kiwis - 04-01-2018 08:20 AM

My loading screen is extremely slow,
- only some characters (no particular trend I can find)
- takes about 7-10 seconds to fully load
- on occasions, the loading screen will turn pale, and client stops responding but it always goes through anyway.
- loading screen started being slow about around when snow prontera got implemented (not sure if theres a correlation)
** (My laptop doesn't experience any general processing problems, only heRO)

Any tech savvies, GMs, or people who have experienced this...?

sometimes it happens to me too, i blame it to my laptop's processings speeds; sometimes under some "heavy" workload, changing maps takes more seconds.
Is your machine top notch, good, or old? I know that on old machines, loadings can take several seconds.

I'm not a tech savvy GM, but have you checked if your graphics card is out of date? Does it just go 'heRO has stopped working' or is there an Error? If it's loading and there's an error, you could be missing loading screens/pictures. Do you run with the patcher or do you launch directly from the exe?

i've updated graphic cards numerous times

Yeah, it goes "heRO has stopped responding", not an error

I run the patcher from admin, but that's just as slow as the direct exe D:

Hello there Kissy2

Sometimes the HDD/SSD left storage causes certain "old" programs to be slow responsive. In that case you can try deleting some files that has no use or use Disk Defragmentation
Ro use a looooot of CPU, have tried upgrading program priority from task manager? sometimes it works.
About loading screens and freezing, how about your internet connection? Happens a lot to me in my house (where my internet connection its bad, High ping, wifi), but in my job where I use ethernet connection never happens.

Sorry for my taco english Icon_twisted

Hope something works. No1
If not I practiced my English

Have you tried running it using some compatibility setting ? I am not sure your OS but there should be some running configuration you can set for old program like RO
