Tech Note- Guild Exp/Rococo Mask - GM-Ayu - 05-24-2020 09:16 PM

Hey all,

Recently we got a ticket report asking why Nidhoggur's Shadow mvp is giving a wrong amount of guild exp to the party's guild. Upon investigation, we found the following:

Guild exp is NOT taken upon the final display number of experience. If you are taxed for 50%, you do not take half of the exp you gained.

Guild exp is actually taken first, before all other calculations. This means that guild exp is taken directly after a player gets its base share of exp, before tap calculations, hero server setting bonuses, and all exp equipment/pet boosts.

So let's say you are killing a monster with 100k exp according to @mi in a party of 4, and you have 50% guild tax. The guild exp will accrding take 50% of the 25k exp, which is 12.5k exp. After that, then the server will apply taps, hero server party setting bonus on the 12.5k exp for you.

That will explain why most guild exp are getting around 30m exp and not 120m exp off of Nidhoggur party.

On a related note, that means Rococo Mask did nothing for a decade... This is because Rococo Mask will count as the "exp equipment boost" step of the calculation. Even though it does change the exp display message according for the wearer, guild exp has been calculated long time ago so that's why this issue was not noticed until the reporting player had to do the calculations via control panel.

We will either have to think of a new effect for all Rococo Mask, or think of something else that will address the issue. We have no ETA for when this will be fixed or what are our plans for Rococo Mask in light of this recent report.

We thank the player/guild that reported this issue, but note that no compensation exp will be given to the reporting guild, as the guild exp has been calculated this way for every other guilds on the server since the dawn of time.

EDIT: was fixed in an update in november 2020. It now drops Tribal Solidarity, which in turn gives guild exp.
