I went with a friend to kill Keihl for the last part of the quest. We killed him for me, I started the dialogue and used the Power Device (it left my inventory). Then my friend mis-clicked and spawned stuff, which killed me because I was stuck in dialogue, then ate her. When we got back, it let me trigger the fight again, and the talk afterwards completed as (I think) normal, but I didn't get the ring. When we returned to Kiel Heir, he had no epilogue for me, only the prompt to open the path to Keihl.
In summary: I'm stuck unable to progress in the quest, and I need something done about it.

he won't give you the ring the first time you talk to him after hte fighting. You ahve to go and talk to him AGAIN afterwards and he'll throw the ring at you. THEN you can leave.
Don't worry, you can go back and do that section over again, you just have to kill him again.

Yeah, the triggers and variables with Kiehl are retarded. One time, me and a team went in and all spawned Kiehl at once and consequently got wiped. We were really just screwing around. We all went back in to kill him one at a time because we actually wanted to finish the quest... and we all got rings. XD

Well, I won't have time to round up the troops for a few days, but I have a couple questions for clarification. When I talked to him after killing him the second time, the gist of the convo was this:
You think you've won but you haven't, I have more tricks. Blarg, a power-disrupting thingamajig! Ha-ha! I have another ace up my sleeve! *spoiler-thing about his secret plan* I know my father sent you here to bring back this ring, so take it to him. And tell him I'm no longer his son! Meanwhile I'm going to blow up the joint, see you in hell (if I make it there)! *klaxons and self-destruct messages and portal to the outside*
It is at this point that I have to talk to him again to get the ring, yes? If so, then I'll be more thorough next time.
As an aside, that's the lamest explosion ever, it just kicks you out of the zone where the portal would have taken you anyway.
