Light / Dark maps - Bloody - 01-10-2008 11:32 AM

It can be part of the Light / Dark system. Maps only accessible by Light or Dark heroes. This map has several floors and each is unlocked seperately. Each floor requires a certain sum of zeny/items/small quest to go further inside.

Custom mobs won't be a bad idea if Panda is done working on more urgent issues. Of course the drops will partially contain custom drops, and other existing drops. The monsters should be somehow challanging and only parties can handle them. They'd drop colored feathers (avian wings), and other items required for quests such as the new Thanatos quest.

Also they'd drop items to make new wings. The NPC can be found at the last floor of the dungeon. The last floor can be only accessed by an NPC similar to Rachel Sanctuary. A huge ass amount of zeny donations done by any number of players to achieve the total amount required to unlock it.

Seriously, though... seems pretty cool. Might take a while to implement, no? New maps? New NPCs? New custom mobs? o.O

Lol Bloody you like NPC that ask lots of money, could it have anything to do with being the richest player on heRO? Icon_biggrin

I kid I kid.. but anyway nice idea, some parts I like less for example I think blue/red feathers are fine where they are. Custom maps for light/dark only could be fun, custom monsters gotta be careful about balance, same with actual monster too anyway. Maybe someday.

Well, I'd be willing to help with the script part. I have yet to write scripts for heRO, but I do scripting for many other things (both for my job, and in my spare time). I scripted an entire server for NWN, and I have scripted some basic games before. eAthena's scripts can't be too difficult to learn, I'll look into it if you guys ever need help with scripting (not just for this) - I'm already in the test section of the forums (I just rarely post)

NPCs are very easy to script, the code is rather basic. You can check whats needed in the T&D section.

How about making maps? Can maps be made before scripting? if that's possible then I might help out making maps.... Needs to get a compy first... lol

Maps are not easy to make, I don't make maps myself, just like I don't make headgears or hairstyles, I get them from Rune.

If you want to give it a try you're most welcome to, you can fine all you need (guides and tools) on Rune ^_^ (http://ro-enhance.net/)

I'll give it a go once I build my computer. I'll have to mail the url to myself, lol. Tell me, is making the maps anything like rpg maker? If it's close to the same then I should have no problem with it. It's more the programing that goes on that throws me...
