Heropatcher problem O.O - Tanu-chan - 02-04-2008

Hello, I was hoping that the nice wonderful people on our most awesome server could help my husband and I with a problem that has screwed our patcher up.

After being informed on server by GM Mystra that a new patch was available, I went to download said patch. Unfortunately the lag our computer was experiancing at the time (likely due to the wonderful weather we've been having here just north of Toronto) buggered the download up, cancelled it, and otherwise blew the patcher to kingdom come.??It refuses to patch anything anymore, and when we run in, it gives us this lovely information:

Any help would gladly be appreciated.??For some reason now, we cant even see most of the heRO custom pallets or gear, when otherwise we have been able to in the past. o.O;;

Thanks in advance,
Tanu-chan

RE: Heropatcher problem O.O - Loki - 02-04-2008

Delete the file neoncube.file then try to repatch. If that doesn't work then reinstall the mini patcher and delete the file neoncube.file

RE: Heropatcher problem O.O - Tanu-chan - 02-04-2008

Alrighty, I did as you suggested Loki. It looked as if everything was patching smoothly, but once it got to the most recent batch of files it needed to patch, the same error came up. Icon_cry It was downloading the 20080125 file or one shortly after it, and the error came up, shutting the patcher down.

Pallets are still not showing up right. @_@

Can you try it again one more time (re-install the mini patcher, delete the neoncube.file + patch again), see if you bug at the same patch another time or elsewhere.

tanu,

worst case is we swing by this w/e and copy the files like we had to do with mine (direct link sharing) that was the only way we were able to get it running for me.

RE: Heropatcher problem O.O - Tanu-chan - 02-04-2008

The patcher is still giving errors, and it does so at the end of patching 20080201.gpf. Cry

RE: Heropatcher problem O.O - GM-Pandora - 02-04-2008

Which is not the same one you said earlier.

Sorry for the bother, but can you somehow try again? I don't understand why it bugs at a certain file the first time, then another. Hopefully 3rd time's a charm? 20080201.gpf is the lastest patch as of now.

RE: Heropatcher problem O.O - Tanu-chan - 02-04-2008

Hnnn. I tried once more, and it bugged out again at 20080201.gpf...
It looks like it finishes at 99%, goes to 'process patched files' and *then* bugs... the first time I followed loki's advice and wasn't watching the screen the whole time near the end, so it might well have bugged out at the 20080201, all I specifically remembered was that it was after the 20080125 file... Thinking

I tried uninstalling heRO and then reinstalling it, and patching again, but the heROpatcher bugged out once more.

The game itself seems to run fine aside from some messed up pallets and whatnot. Still, its rather vexing. Mad

Hmmm check to make sure there is disk space available and that the windows user you are using has write access.

I know there's plenty of disk space available... but how do you check for write access?
