Cutins & Other Art by Heroes - GM-Pandora - 03-10-2008 RO uses different types of artwork, such as cutins, loading screens, login screens, card images, item images, etc. As of 2022, heRO handles player-made art by commission, in which we pay using ingame items, usually donation items, or headgears and costumes (sometimes unreleased ones). If you're interested in making art for the server, contact GM-Ciar on Discord for more information. Art is relative to every individual's particular taste, therefore it can be hard to decide what piece of game artwork we want to add. We only add art deemed worthy as per the vision of the current GMs. We are not picky, but for example a stick figure drawing is an obvious no go. Below you can find a list of artwork that we need. Please note that the list may not be fully updated. Cutins: They give flavor to NPCs by showing an image when talking to them. The cutin can have your name/artist signature on it, but please don't make it huge. Official cutin size varies, but as general guideline, try to make something in the area of 320 x 480. The background has to be transparent. The color for that is a specific pink (For RGB, it's 255-0-255, and for Hex it's #FF00FF) and only that, the npc itself must not be transparent or have any semi-transparent pixels. If it's not at 100% opacity it will make the pink background not exactly FF00FF, which will be noticeable in-game (usually a quite ugly pink outline on the image). And please, don't use anti-aliasing. As for file format, it must be .bmp or .png. If you want to check if your image is ok before sending, open it in photoshop, use the magic wand with a tolerance of 1, select the area around your npc, turn that white or black. If there is a pink outline around the NPC, you have to make it go away! List of Gravity NPCs can be found here: http://nn.ai4rei.net/dev/npclist/ Note: Some NPCs on the site may have been replaced on heRO by custom NPCs Title Screens and Loading Screens: The size of a loading screen should be 1600 x 1200. The image format must be Jpeg (.jpg). Please note upon being added to the server the artwork will have the server's logo. Card Images: Card Images should be in Bitmap format (.bmp) or in .png, and their size should be 300 x 400, no more and no less. It is not necessary to add the card border or hero logo, we do that part. The sprites can be found on the heRO database. RE: Cutin Art by Heroes - Cloudy-Chan - 03-10-2008 omg sweeet! RE: Cutin Art by Heroes - Prochaine - 03-12-2008 i thought the male bard (top middle in the officials list) already had a pic? o3o; two or three to be precise! he had 2 or 3 expressions man i sure love him 8D;; aws... <3 can't wait to see results! *urge to draw Reset master* RE: Cutin Art by Heroes - GM-Pandora - 03-12-2008 Yeah the male bard already has a cutin, and we're not using it as custom npc, so that one is not recommended. If anyone finds a website with existing cutin, please post link. If you are not sure, you can ask here which npc you wanna draw and I'll tell you if it has a cutin already or not. Reset master sounds good ^_^ RE: Cutin Art by Heroes - Fontes - 03-15-2008 There's my Styla cutin: Real Color In-game 8-bit Color (256 colors) The 256 color is in PNG format, but all ya have to do is to put it in 256 colored BMP, in MS Paint, and everything will be just fine. I didn't had much of a choice... I tryed to host it in BMP format, but that cursing photobucket automatically converts BMPs do blurry JPGs... Well, hope it's good enough for ya. Next, I might do either the banker, or the warper... RE: Cutin Art by Heroes - Flossy - 03-15-2008 Redo the hand and add scissors that'd rule RE: Cutin Art by Heroes - Fontes - 03-15-2008 Like this? This time, I added a lil' signature thingy. Forgot, last time... XD RE: Cutin Art by Heroes - Flossy - 03-15-2008 YES ! <3 Awesome, Very nice, RE: Cutin Art by Heroes - fudashi - 03-17-2008 You people make me sick with your artisticness Since you clearly have more drawing talent in your little finger than I have in the whole of my being, I shall make an observation instead Since the cutins appear in the bottom right, should she be facing the other way? Just a thought... However, the art itself is, to coin a phrase, slooperb. *wishes he could draw.... at all* RE: Cutin Art by Heroes - KittyPaws - 06-22-2008 This is the Styla i drew.(4 hours in photoshop) Hope you like it. |
