i was thinking of joining this server but had some questions about community first. How many people are on during normal hours/peak hours. Also what is the class balance like on some servers there are a ridiculous number of assassins or saders. So whats the count on main characters are assassin/ninja classes is something a little more specific but in general how is that balanced out.

there's lots of assassins and assassin cross mains, and knights, and with the release of homunculus, there's a lot of alchemists and biochems running around. There's one or two good ninja's but I don't know anyone who uses them as a main.
Regardless of the time of day, most of the player count is made up of the venders in pront. Around this time, there's around 117 players online, not sure how many are vending but they're counted too

you can guesstimate 50 auto trading merchants... so 50+ are actual players.

There's a lot of every class, less ninja/gunner main because they are newer. There's 133 players on right now, about 50 are merchants, so 80+ are players.

The number of players lately seems to have restabalized around the 130+ mark. And there are tons of classes of everything nearly except for Whitesmith and Stalker lately.

Hope that you won't get the misconception how heRO is buffing the number of players with @autotrade merchants. Other servers also have the same @autotrade feature, and some servers even allow Dual Client, so a player controlling the same champ prof high priest and soul linker on top of their merchants all count as like... 6 players then? lol. heRO certainly doesn't allow Dual Client for that to happen though.

We did have a lot of people playing Gunslingers for a small while, but that has indeed gone down since the hype died xD

yeah, but that was a long while ago, about the time when i joined up back in october last year lol. barrel was already a 90something gunslinger too haha

Barrel made it to 99, I remember they showed off the aura. :D
