I am using a Netbook. This game refuses to use any resolution (under Set-up) Other than 800x600 FULL SCREEN. It will not give me the whole window if I uncheck full screen, it will shrink my window down and my menus are cut off in anything smaller than that. I can't move the window to, say the middle of the screen since it does not allow me to touch the top bar to drag the darn thing anywhere.
I would like to not have to run this game full screen. I enjoy doing multiple things at once, and this lack of function under the Setup.exe is quite vexing.
Is there a solution for this mess?
It sounds like you don't have the Mouse Freedom attachment. You can download that to move the mouse out of the client window, but it doesn't alwas work. The other thing you could do to move the client is hit ctrl + esc, then move the cursor to where the top bar is, the pointer will disappear, and click on it, then you can move it.
=/ This is crap. It will not let me play normally in anything other than full screen.
Nonfull screened 800x600 is too large and won't let me see the chat input log.
Anything bloody smaller and the chatlog is too low to get to, and the menus are cut off.
/sigh
Edit: to be somewhat helpful.. it might be limited by your actual video card/software config.. try updating drivers maybe.. then make sure you're running more than 800x600 for your actual desktop config.
retired except for..
the Herman Zeny Sink event of 2011.. 3.5b drained and
counting..

I'd suggest you use the custom resolution of ROExt if you want to play Fullscreen without having to check Fullscreen (or even set your own resolution)

Um, dude, i play this game as well as Final Fantasy Online without any trouble. >.>
Also, I can play FFXI minimized properly without any actual in game screen loss.
