Hey guys, long time no see.
I've been off heRO for quite some time now and I felt nostalgic lately. I considered coming back and logged in for an hour then i remembered why I left xD.
So here are some suggestions for the server that would have made my gameplay a lot better and a lot more enjoyable. Many of my friends shared the same points of view, so I thought I might as well contribute to the community instead of silently disappearing.
The PVM scene:
1. RO has many qualities, but damn the quests are far from exciting. Seriously, when I started, I knew nothing about this game so I thougt the story might be worth it. I tried spending time reading those chat boxes entirely and I remember giving up this task after my first job change (Enter spam begins). So my suggestion is to
create a universal pass to unlock quest dungeons. For example, you could make a Lucifer's Lament-ish item for Nameless that would let you enter the dungeon on any character once you have done it once. I do not mind doing a long quest once, but please spare me from doing it multiple times.
2. Many threads were created to whine about the popular dungeons in this server. First it was DG then Muspel then who knows what's next. To be honest, those dungeons were awesome (they could've offered diversity but people got stuck to them) and the problems that were linked to them were players' mistakes. People just had to understand that to be good (i.e. get geared)
you had to farm multiple places. I found them pretty balanced in a way because even if they were dungeons with an incredible amount of exp for little effort, they only gave mediocre gear (DRings aren't megs or orleans guys). So yea,
to people complaining about that, make something happen, like MVP hunting, and let people who want to power level do it (I also hated the leveling part of this game after a few maxed characters, but I won't suggest an auto 99/70 magic item this time lol).
The PVP scene:
This is my favorite part of the game, I unfortunately never fully enjoyed it because of the lack of involvement from the community. WoE seemed interesting only at the time when I was gear-less and new, and it just went downwards since then.
1. I loved your patch that implemented PVP supplies but it is still not perfect imo. WoE isn't supposed to be a zeny sink event, it's about fighting (and drama :D),
thank you for implementing supplies because it is really hard for new players to play carry characters like champion or sinx, when it's hard, it makes what woe is lately, a bunch of priests and clowns supporting one or two killers. Though,
I would make some supplies a bit cheaper and add some to the lot.
The way I see is that if you fully participated to a WoE, you should be able to get the major part of your supplies refunded (like 75%. Let's say you get your EDPs and some of your pots back via points). Also, some items, like condensed white pots deserve to be redeemable, just make them a bit worse than the creos' pots so those characters won't lose their value. Speed pots would be nice as well but those are pretty over powered imo so make them expensive =p. These items are PVP-restricted, so I dunno why you guys are so cheap about them since they do not interfere with the non-PVP world.
2.
WoE is not about getting rewards (I know there's castle drops), it's about enjoying the fights. You guys shouldn't add stuff like exp. You go to WoE because you want to fight and dominate long enough to build something.
3. Now here's some complicated stuff. I dunno if you guys ever noticed but gear swapping is broken in this game in certain cases, especially against champions, it doesn't matter that much for other classes if I remember correctly. For example, if you put on a ghostring in the middle of an asura cast, the ghostring won't take effect. It also happens with professors' curse and evil druid toggling (It was the first I noticed but I wasn't sure because you can change gears when you're cursed).
Can you try changing it so that the effect of the skill (asura, SC, etc.) only takes effect once it is fully cast? I died way too many times with the good armor on.
Misc.:
1. Something is wrong with this server's economy. I know there has been many exploits over the years, but the leak of the Poring bosses one was too much I think. You have two kinds of people now, those who have infinite supplies (e.g. EDPs, but more importantly money, which made this currency worthless, I sold bracers 200m wtf) and those who did not know or did not use the exploits (it's funny how people you thought were insane farmers are just lazy haxors). I can feel your struggle trying to solve this problem because I couldn't find any suggestion for this. But I think it's another reason to make the PVP items above cheaper, it will balance out the amount of supplies between two teams.
Tips for new people:
1.WoE on this server is way too hard for new players, you need weeks before even having decent gears against good people here. Make friends while you pvm and explore the
multiple dungeons to get some neat gears. Honestly, the most fun part of this server is the people you will meet (especially the haters
, jk jk). Also, geared/veterans seem to always regroup in the same guild, so it makes it even harder. WoE once you're ready, many people can't take many losses and just start leaving the WoE scene forever (after a good @main flame ofc.) The other kind of leavers are the ones who get steam rolled after a new strong guild has been formed.
2. Ghostring armors are not invincibility guys, they are
SITUATIONAL , stop making me waste verts
.
So ya, I'm done, sorry for the long post. I'm not coming back in-game unless something really cool happens (orcus lvl 2 please kthxbye).
