it looks interesting and cool, but it dosen't really look good enough to buy (which you probably would need to do), so some might just stick back to warcraft's version of dota for its free-ness

Some Things You Just Can't Explain.
Am back.... as lord of AFK

Meh... Don't see why it's wholly necessary. I understand that the WCIII Engine isn't the greatest for innovation, but I don't understand why they had to change what they did with the actual DotA (I, personally, preferred the looks of the original characters -- Shaman Bloodseeker is much nicer). I can barely play League of Legends with my archaic machine and, while I would love to get back into DotA (too lazy to purchase Burning Chaos CD again after losing my original), I doubt I would be able to with this one.
Splintered community is also foreseen. If DotA 2.0 is basically a shiny DotA, you're going to have some who go and some who invariably don't. If DotA 2.0 can streamline things such as matchmaking, though, it might be worth the move. League of Legends tried matchmaking for a game like this, and it's been shown to be quite difficult and wholly frustrating. I wonder if DotA 2.0 will miraculously circumvent this and make something worthwhile.
Everything else promised I am also skeptical on, but I suppose I'll see upon its release. Maybe I'll have a better computer by then (doubtful).
