AFK Hunting/Leveling Rule ?

2007/12/10 Im adding the rule *AFK Hunting/Leveling will be considered as botting. Same rule will apply for the upcoming Homunculus.*

I don't get it, Does that mean you cannot go afk if your in a party killing crap ?

essentially yes, though afk should be defined better. brb is entirely different, but afk means for an extended period of time, meaning if you've been gone for half an hour, you should not be in the party leeching xp and thusly leveling up. if you say brb and will be back in a couple minutes or so, then that is not afk leveling, or at least not a bannable offense (or shouldn't be, though there is always the option of logging off before going brb too)

If you're sitting afk, but you are neither leveling nor hunting, this it's perfectly acceptable.

However if for example you have a card that reflects damage, and you sit afk in a mob to kill them while you're not in front of the screen, then its illegal.

Uhm, I also have a question about this, is it against the rules for my alchemist to walk up to a geographer and summon a plant, me sit and wait for the plant to kill the geographer?

If Mr Spire is there and can pass the bot test (reply to a GM when they ask a question, throw the usual random sanctuaries, etc) then it is probably ok.

That is perfectly legal.

That is just your method of killing the geographer.

The only thing I'll have to watch is the leaching, and I don't believe that is against the rules of iRO, but the rules here will of course be different.

(I don't leach afk, but the day could have come before this rule was made)

Like others said, if you're there it's legal. If you, your homunculus, or your plant(s) are killing stuff and you are not there, this its against the rules.
