Janicealvein Wrote:The novice wings should suck less for Super Novices regardless.??There aren't any other wings that do anything good for SNs, even if they don't want the Angelic Set.

Custom Information Wrote:Def 12 + Unrefinable
MDEF +12
12 FLEE
Discount level 8
Overcharge level 8
+500 hp
+100 sp
+10 Hit
Gives small chance of catching item "Death by Chocolate" (+1 all stat for 10 minutes)
1 Slot

So, uh... how can you claim no other wings do anything good for SNs who don't want the Angelic set? They're novice wings + hp/sp + oc/dc + more def/Mdef + flee + hit + slot + chance to get good healing item/stat food. If you're not looking to complete the Angelic set (which I know most SNs are), these wings are actually superb. The HP/SP bonus means a lot more to SNs than to most classes, since it's much better than any % boost they could ever hope for. You lose out on 400 HP and 8 MDEF by replacing the Angelic combo with these wings. Throw a remover card in the wings and you're actually up 1200 HP over an uncarded Angelic Protection.

Look beyond the Angelic set.

Just as a throwaway build I just came up with a
120 STR, 245 Flee Melee Novice
5504 HP 239 SP @ 99 (this is with 1 base VIT/INT)
20% Reduction to All Elements other than Neutral
30% Reduction to Neutral
30% Reduction to Demi-Humans

Average Damage received from High Orc = 155 (not counting 95% dodge)
Average Damage received from Anubis = 365 (not counting 95% dodge)

- Albus Dumbledore 99/70 Professor - Albus DumbIedore 92/59 Professor
- AIbus Dumbledore 93/50 Wizard - AIbus DumbIedore 1/1 Novice
- Astaroth 99/70 Creator - Dawkins 99/70 Creator
- Exemplar 98/69 Paladin - Equitas 80/47 Paladin
- Mephistopheles 95/65 Lord Knight - Shogo Kawada 97/67 Stalker

point 1. first class skills are crap really, even when combined they're crap, especially against trans classes that know how to play their class.

point 2. those buffs upon each level, only last until level 99, then you're stuck buffing yourself, and the buffs, yeah not really that that good, it's almost necessary for SNs to survive at later levels.

point 3. about the only reason why people make SNs. unfortunately level 10 bolts aren't exactly that powerful with anyone toting proper mdef.

point 4. they need the flee just to survive because of their low low hp and defense. and even then they're pretty weak, especially if you're going instacast, you don't get that high of flee unless you don't care about having any damage with bolts whatsoever.

point 5. toh wings would be insanely hard for them to get as most of the trials SNs even with their buffs and such would have a very difficult time killing the monsters, or even competing in pvp or mass battle. it is doable, just not likely. zodiac wings, would be good though going through the quest itself would be agonizing enough, which is why the wings are pretty good for any class.

point 6. there are many sets that give bonuses ONLY for a specific class, archer set, merch set, swordie set. granted these are card sets, but there's also armor sets like goibne's that most other classes can wear that SN aren't able to wear.

point 7. haven't heard about that, really didn't care so much about anything other than angelic set, which the baby wings do complete, however still lack something to make up for not having a card slot like the angelic protection it replaces.

RE: baby wings
Before SN whines about lack of equip, they do have access to more stuff via the Soul Link. Even without it, there's a few classes that have far worse of a selection of gears to choose from.

Looking at you, Ninjas and Gunslingers.
(Let's make wings for them too? oh, and then SL didn't get gears since HQS, let's make one of that. Then there's those Knights who... and the monks... oh don't forget the...~!)

I vaguely recall Pandora saying that she may consider making them to give +2 all stats to SN so that it's tie with the elemental wings' +2. However, I strongly doubt that we'll be giving a slot there.

PS: I'm sure all wizards out there are totally dying of envy at the "those useless first class skill" known as attention concentrate. And then there's one of "those useless first class skill" known as Pneuma who basically walls out an entire class's offensive ability too...

Do those first class skills ever suck bad.

RE: baby wings
-+9 novice manteau(orc baby) seriously not hard to make. Total of 25% resist +15 flee

+9Novice shield(1) Which is basicly a valk shield for hmmmm 5K ZENNY add in a tharafrog in that.

so there you go super novice.

2 gear 17.6 def
15 flee
25% resist to neutral
30% resist to demi human
20% resist to elemental.

Swordman
+9 Valk shield (thara) lol
+9 whool scarf(Nox?)lol

def 18.6
10%resist neutral
10% resist range
20% resist water fire shadow undead
30% resist demihuman
10%hp(considering tidals.)

Now do you have your answer? or??do supernovice still need wings?

Extra stats? no. they can wear elemental wings for that. and have free slotted acessory with 1 str/int

RE: baby wings
without the angelic set, SN hp is barely less than 3k (base stat, 1 vit) even with the +10 to stats, and absolutely no gear at all, add in angelic set and you're sitting at just under 4k and that's just hp, there's also sp to consider which SN have extremely little of, oh and weight so yeah we're not gonna carry around 100 fish just to keep our sp up just because we cast our buffs. many skills will still oneshot that even after reducs from WoE etc etc etc, and if not come close enough to make it an easy kill after that.

yes there's pneuma, yes there's safety wall, but to get them you're giving up other, more useful skills. or at least if you go for both of them, so you sacrifice one or the other defensive skill.

RE: baby wings
*points to earlier post*

You can hit over 5k HP without the Angelic Set and without any Vit. I also don't think SN was ever intended to be seriously competitive with trans classes. If you want to survive in non-Alde WoE settings at all, Super Novice is an awful choice - so please don't base your arguments for improving super novice on WoE.
