RE: Ban list
Who: Cale, Labirt
How Long: Permanent:
What he/she did: dual client to MvP
This was an extensive operation since Sept 2nd until Dec 5th when we finally have enough evidence about these 2 accounts. Circe and I had a giant all-nighter campout marathon observation over 8 hours in Moscovia Forest to observe these 2's activities to find *repeated* cycle of the same thing. These 2 addresses share the same IP and the timing of Cale (a High Priest) is unnatural in how it's logged in for split seconds just to buff and heal, only in secluded spots. Labirt have to run an unnatural amount and fly wing against the MvP when hit, and all of this is certainly preventable if the two went at it together.
The strongest evidence is that once the MvP did stumble into the secluded spot when both are online. The MvP was approaching and clearly visible (not an ambush from covered areas), but Labirt was unable to react like most other players could have. The MvP was near dead and a few more attacks starting from the time when the MvP is approaching could've ended it. Instead, the sniper has to fwing first, then the other logged out. After MvP is dead, HP reappeared for quick buff and heal, and both logged off until the next MvP spawn time is there.
There were accusations about using MvP Tracker device to find the precise time and spawn location of MvPs against MvPs that have no fixed coordinate. However, there is not enough evidence for this 3rd party usage (not that dual client isn't enough for permanent ban.)
Lots of players are also involved in assisting with this operation to help the GMs cover all time zones. Thanks to Marivel (who first reported him), Ayantis, Krumb, Aaronock, Kohaku, and MitsukeX for their assistance over these 4 months to try to track down Labirt/Cale's appearances in MvPs.
There are 16 other accounts related to the IP at question, and there's reasonable evidence that this is within a LAN house. GM team is giving it the benefit of the doubt that this is a LAN house case (there's great redundancy in setup of characters who are all geared, different naming schemes and etc) and therefore only banned the 2 accounts that are definitely dual clienting with great evidence. There is a possibility that out of the 16 remaining, the original owner of Labirt/Cale may still have "something left" in heRO.
Should we find this same occurrence happen again with this IP address, we will treat it as an 18-client scenario and IP ban this address, LAN house or not. Dual client is a serious issue on par with botting, and is not tolerated in heRO at all.
