Valentine´s Day a hoax?

i'd go for none, in my country every 'holiday' is being turned in something to get as much as possible money out of your pockets. Its just no fun or anything special anymore. Though i have to admit i'm not a big fan of the 'thought' of valentines day??either cause

1. i think its a bit of bcrap to 'show your love to someone special' in only that day a year. Lol i can love someone and show that person i love him/her 365 days (and sometimes 366 days) a year. That i care or love about that person doesn't need one day in the year to either show my love to him/her or to 'confess' my feelings to that person.??
2. i'm single and on the hate love tour atm so that could help also 8D (though i ALWAYS hated vday anyway)

I never really understood the reasoning behind *any* holidays, to be quite honest. Celebrating a specific person, or a specific event... if it's so great to be significant, you should have it celebrated every day of your life, even if in a small way.


Holidays are really just the lazy people's excuse to say they really care about the thing in question. A bad significant other, who hardly spends any time with you and doesn't really care for you, can immediately get an A+ simply by participating at that designated time of year. It's ridiculous and just deludes people and those around them into thinking that they actually care about (insert holiday reason here).

Celebrating a specific person, or a specific event... if it's so great to be significant, you should have it celebrated every day of your life, even if in a small way.

I agree with above, presents and such don't have to have anything to do with events. I happen to like the events also, though. They kinda spice up my life in a way, although I admit they aren't all that special as some might make them sound. I'm just going to try making both events (rarely but still) and everyday life special in some sort of degree. And I'm so old-fashioned that I keep on finding Valentine's Day romantic.

XD Well. Normally I love Valentines Day. It's an excuse to spend the ENTIRE DAY doing everything with the one I love, showering them with gifts and treating them like a goddess.

xP This is my first Valentines I'll have been single in 6 years. I suspect I'll suffer.
