you can set your local IP to a static one (LAN) by either disabling the DHCP or by setting an IP to a MAC adress. If you're on DSL, it's nearly impossible to have a static IP (internet IP = Wide Area Network [WAN]).
How could we live days without complications like these. I've got a friend that could maybe help us with this so I'll ask him as soon as I see him, this saturday at the latest.
