RE: What's for dinner~
Not any real meal here but planning to make
Mont Blanc
Image from Cannelle et Vanille
It is a basically Chestnut cream top on a cookie, cake or whatever.
Origin and very still popular in France.
Chestnut is naturally and delicately sweet. Making into a creamier and smoother texture is just heaven.
I wish to make Mont Blanc for my friends and family for Christmas. I think chestnut are very fitting for the Holidays, don't you think so?
I think I will make the base a little chiffon or some kind of cake. =] I was thinking of a nice hazel nut based cake with *dark* chocolate drizzle on top Mont blanc. Or even lightly coat/dip the cake into chocolate and have it a rum based or wine based. Mmmmz... My mouth is getting watery.
I'll update when I got my plans in my head all set because right now there is so many ideas of how to make Mont Blanc! Hmm, a little of alcohol taste will give it a slight more mature and balance taste to the creamy chestnut.
Bailey...
>o< doh, sorry for my rant!
=] Happy Baking/Cooking.
Ah, now I got myself thinking to try chestnuts into chocolate truffles I plan to make.
I am always better at sweets then cooking. <3

RE: What's for dinner~
Well, I seen people making mont blanc in log cake!
But I like small proportion especially for those people who are on a diet!
Plus it looks cuter when they are small =D (I am so asian, >o<)
I am always trying my best to watch what I use and try my best to replace them if they are high in fat for people. But it is Christmas, Self indulgence time!
My brother is planning to come and swing by before or after Christmas. We plan to make gingerbread house!
I'll take picture if he remembers my SD card!

Ideas of use of Stale bread!
I love bread so much. It is like a must for me to live near a bakery that bake fresh bread everyday. So I love buying my bread (all kinds) and munching them plainly everyday. Sometime when I forget about them, they go STALE.... =[!
But that's fine! I still like eating bread, and will never give up.
There is several ways to use Stale Bread for food still rather then throwing them out.
Examples:
-Stuffing.
You don't need to stick the stuffing in meat , you can just make stuffing and have it with mashed potato, it is always nice!
-Bread Crumb
A supply of your own bread crumb won't hurt. Pop it in a blender or food processor or crush them manually. I used to put it in a bag and crush it with a heavy object.
Bread crumb is used for so many food
I plan to make a batch of Croquette with my breadcrumbs soon!
-Soup.
I love soup, sprinkling some stale bread is nice , just munch it up right away! Use it like crackers but remember they soak up so fast! So if you don't like mushy eat it right away after placing or dunking in soup.
-French Toast (both sweet and savory kind)
Sometime I leave some french bread to stale to make french toast. It wouldn't matter if the bread is stale or not. As long it soaks up the eggs the bread is newly hydrated again!
I love french toast both sweet and savory kind.
Savory topping would be like a little ground beef , shrimp or what's not! I typically use my leftover to make a quick meal.
More simple topping would be green onion!
Milk or and pudding.
Bread pudding is extremely good! It is so simple too! Must try.
Milk: I used condense milk, adding hot water and dunking my stale bread in it. I don't know if you guys will like it but I surely do...Yummy.
Any other ideas for stale bread? I would like to hear them.
other then that, I would feed my doggy bread, she loves bread also expect she makes such a mess!

Goetz Wrote:I didn't have a designated dinner, however i whipped up some random food xD
4 pieces of bread, made some garlic butter, then loaded the breaded with cheese, toasted it, and then it went in my mouth.
=D
Garlic bread is so yummy!! Also cheese <3
Have you tried it with a bit of feta cheese on top of the cheese?
It adds a nice touch. Or adding of oregano with the butter.
Hmm I am glad someone is joining in this thread >o<!!

Today, I made my fav. baked apple mixture.
Cute Apple in half , core it, and make a all circle in side the center (where you cored it).
Dice the bits you cut from the circle, filled it with a mixture of melt butter, flour, brown sugar and a lil bit of honey.
Adding a touch of cimmon and other spices!
Tin foil it and bake it. Ta-da. It is like a mini apple pie with no crust!
Yummy <3
You can add cookie crumbs on top to make it more like an apple pie.
Great for the cold weather.
Serve with warm drink like warm milk or some kind of black tea.
