Might want to take a look at the final rule, even though its extremely sad that advertising a server wipe could cause panic, it would. Thats all I have on the subject.

Would cause panic? It's common knowledge that this server's GMs don't like the concept of wipes. Unless he was hardlining that there was going to be a wipe on the Xth of Y at Z-thirty HST, well, yeah.

But still, Panda gets the final judgement and if she deemed what he did was too much, it was too much.

Nah its a bunch of people taking the words of non-GM's too seriously. I mean really, people take comments like that as truth even though no advertisement whatsoever was given?

It also doesnt say in the rules that the gm's will do anything to overturn a decision, even an unjust one, to ban you if you explain yourself. If you do get unbanned its through the gm's kindness. If you dont then just realize they dont have a responsibility to at all.

I've said that line so many times during my childhood, while playing at friends' houses, they would throw 7 hadoukens in a row and sweep kicking people till day they die. But hey, if i said anything against it, they would throw a tantrum and kick us out of the house. Well it seems to apply here too, it's Panda's server, she can be cheap, lame, or whatever, as long as she doesn't break the big rules, since it's her server.

I'm gonna try to be brief since a few people in the thread already addressed why this was a punishable offense and which rule it falls under.

A few people did get worried and contacted us to confirm or asked on main later in the night if it was true or not (which caused more worried people), luckily most could tell it was a false and a few players did set the record straight (thanks).

1 week punishment was actually not that much considering the previous history of the offender, likewise other people who got punished for it in the past had previous offenses on their record, which always factors in when given punishment.

I don't feel I owe ange anything in particular, I find it very unfortunate for him if he lent gear to someone who ends up getting it banned either temporary or permanently, I sympathise, but that's not for me to control, I will only recommend that in the future, he and everyone else be very careful on what they share and with whom.

Obviously Aaronock's situation is very different as she did not pretend there was gonna be a server wipe and cause any panick, she just mentionned she would if she was gm, which wouldnt be up to her anyhow, but she wasn't serious anyway so really, a very different case not worth comparing.

i think some of your analogies are just misleading... I won't deny your right to say that Panda is strong arming some decisions, but srsly compared to other RO servers, the GMs in HeRO is quite good...

furthermore, rumors and hearsay can cause damage even though they almost always never come from reliable sources - even in real life. So learn to think before you speak.

and yes, some of you probably think that's a load of crap - but i personally have seen some really brutal reactions to unfounded rumours. From beatings to looting to general destruction of property (both public and private)... so grow up and learn to think about life a bit more.
