We had a good streak, but unfortunately here we are.

Who: TMEK, Vary, Sheip, VANT, sharf, Kepa, Tass, and the list goes on

Why: Botting + multi-client


Even though the character in question eventually responded to a bot check after 15+ minutes, it was seconds right before GMs are pushing the button. GM ran manual tests to ensure it's not a language barrier, including various visual cues such as warping the bot-suspect to town maps where there are obviously no monsters. When dropped to a brand new town map, said player continued to teleport around randomly using the same behavior as if it is on a monster map. By the end, the player finally responded to GMs at the end of the check. The defense of "cannot see message, client view is zoomed in" makes no sense when bot check involves warping you to a new maps (4 times), and you continue to teleport around randomly looking for monsters. I even warped the player to an event map with no exit. Finally, even though the player in question is not from an English speaking country, heRO requests all players to know at least basic English to pass bot tests.

... then you proceed to turn the bots back on, moved to a different map thinking that evades the GMs, just for me to bot check you again, and all of your accounts failed every criteria once more.

Why: Hate speech, constantly inciting conflict within the heRO discord despite being asked not to post specific content.

What is written below is strictly my opinion and may or may not be necessarily shared by the rest of the GM Team.

This is the thing and it might sound shocking, but, there is no such thing as "free speech" in HeRO.

Ingame on the @main channel we have historically always asked people to leave religious topics out of main, told people to take it off main when political topics go beyond a line or two of a passing comment/complaint, told people to get a room when things get sexual, and we literally have a rule to ONLY speak in English on main, forum and discord.

And most importantly, the moment some kind of topic goes too far, causes discomfort to several people or just drags on for too long and disrupts the tranquility of the server, we have always told people to calm down, or take it elsewhere.

The Discord server and general ingame playerbase is largely "progressive leaning" or at the VERY least, either "doesn't care" or "NOT WHAT THEY'RE HERE FOR", when it comes to these topics. Due to this, naturally some posts will be looked down upon, for a variety of reasons, and can escalate into worse conflict. Therefore, GMs are completely within their power to quell any situation leading to chaos, and mute or remove players if they consistently and repeatedly cause this kind of trouble or... discord, if you will.

Why: when requested to stay logged off, player spammed login during critical update to try to abuse mvp respawns to sneak in extra mvping without contest.

Hope that Tao Gunka kill is worth delaying everything and forcing the GM team to stay up extra late and server going down again to troubleshoot issues.

Why: Failed bot checks but responded in time

Player failed to react to the following, and only responded upon being jailed:

- Normal messages and local broadcasts
- Spawning "suspicious" monsters: Player runs to attack a 1000 HP plant monster without question
- Observed that player no longer walks at all when sent to a different map

We must remind players that failing a bot check normally IS the equivalent of botting itself, and as shown in the above list, we have plenty of different approaches to give ample opportunities for player to respond, so there should be no excuses.

The normal punishment for botting is a permanent ban, but due to Boo's Trick or Treating event, we have decided to only issue a 1 day ban, taking into consideration any possible confusion between a real bot check and Boo's tricks.

We would like to remind all our players that dual clienting is against heRO's rules. The punishment for this is a permanent ban on all associated accounts.

AND reminder that account sharing is not encouraged by GMs, if you share your account information with others and you lose items, or the accounts are used to dual client, or are found to be in association with dual clienting, we will unfortunately not be able to assist you.
