Ragnarok Installation Guide

I've made this guide to help everyone with the installation of Ragnarok Online.
So just follow the steps if you have any trouble installing the game/patch.
Feel free to send me a PM or post here if you feel that theres something missing.

Ragnarok Installation Guide

(For "how to install ragnarok without kRO", look at the end of the guide)

First you'll need to download two ragnarok installation files:

- kRO (Korean Ragnarok)
- Sakray

The both files listed above have various versions, download the most recent one from the following site:

After downloading them both, time for the install.

1 - kRO installation

Browse to where you downloaded at your computer the RAG_SETUPxxxx.exe and run it. (The xxxx is the version of kRO)



- step 01. Click the first button (next) at the first screen.


- step 02. Click the first button to accept the agreement. Then click at the "next" button to continue.


- step 03. You can change the folder where you will install RO there. If you have to change, remember to use the same path for sakray installation.

(If a prompt occurs, click the first button to accept.)


- step 04. Wait for the installation to finish.


- Step 05. Done! Check the box to automatically run ragnarok online patcher, and update your kRO. Press "ok" and wait the patcher to update everything.

2 - Sakray installation

Browse to where you downloaded at your computer the SAK_SETUPxxxx.exe and run it. (The xxxx is the version of Sakray)


Now the rest of the installation it's just like kRO, follow again the steps 1 to 5 and you'll have kRO and Sakray fully installed and updated.

3 - heRO Patch installation

Now download the heRO monthly patch:
- The June 2007 files (~16 MB)

Browse to the download location, and unzip the file using your favorite archive uncompressor. (Like WinRAR: http://www.rarlab.com )


When extracted, you'll have the files above.
You can just extract directly at your RO folder
(like: C:/Program Files/Gravity/RO) or
cut/copy and paste the patch files at your RO folder.

Now just run heRO.exe and have fun!

Note: If you didn't updated your kRO and Sakray as said above, just run Ragnarok.exe and sakray.exe at your RO folder to update.

Ragnarok Installation without kRO

You can install heRO without kRO as well, but for that you'll need to download sakray and RagLite.

Ragnarok can work without kRO.


1: Download and install Sakray

2: Download the Raglite Package with all the needed dll files:

umm... can i ask sumtin...
in the raglite itself, there is sakray.exe
do we have to install sakray again?

Notice how with the raglite install the first step is "1: Download and install Sakray" Under normal circumstances you need both Sakray and kRO. What raglite does is let you skip the redundant kRO install and only gives you the files that are used from it. Raglite probably made a modification to the sakray.exe. As long as you follow the order of the directions it should work. That means you don't need to re-install sakray. I myself don't use raglite but rather a different dll and bgm pack. I don't know why raglite would have a sakray.exe in it but it probably won't matter either way.

oh gosh... still the same..

i can log in with my user id and password.. but when heRO(xx) and i pressed enter, rejected by server... i thought it was because i didn't install sakray... but i've downloaded it n installed it just now... but it's the same... damn >.<

weird... i never used raglite, so i don't know how to help =/
Try pm'ing Yetipunk, he have wrote the raglite part of the guide.
maybe he can help u ^_^
Or try just downloading kRO, its not so big.
(Well, depends on your internet speed >_<; but anyway)
Having kRO and Sakray you should have no problem.
