FFA MVP Summoned With Quests

Someone suggested that MVP Ktullanux not be FFA, since it requires a quest to summon and it can only be done once, it really sucks to have it taken away from you by other players. I guess they were too shy or decided not to post in forum afterall? Anyhow I think the idea viable, so I'm suggesting it here.

Should MVP that are summoned with quest Not be FFA (free for all)? While we're at it, would you prefer that no MVP at all be FFA, that all monsters including MVP be bound by the NO KS rule? On official server MVPs are FFA but we're much smaller that officials so it's probably not too unreasonable to consider changing the rule.

you could also set it to spawn naturally and change the quest to summon a custom ktullanux and possibly add something else on to the end of the quest? Since you can only do it once maybe some dark/light points?

As far as mvp's summoned from BB's if the suggestion wants to stand you could make a custom mvp branch room which I believe someone else on the forums suggested.

I think the MvP's that spawn naturally on maps should still be FFA.

I've expressed my thoughts on this before, so I'll just summarize. When an MVP is free-for-all, the only thing that matters is how quickly you can deal damage to it. If you've got a group that's good enough to tank, hold, and kill an MVP safely, then when a lord knight comes along and hits frenzy, all your work is out the window because he's hitting faster and harder than you. I firmly believe there's more to the concept of killing Valkyrie Randgris than throwing yourself onto her sword. But if MVPs are considered free-for-all, damage is the only thing that counts.

everything should be free for all the strong propser the weak fail its that way in life why should people be taught that things come easy if your weaker then others? either way in game especially all mvps should be free for all quest or no cause its too easy for a party of new players to simply hit an mvp then others have to wait until they kill them wich can take long... and it throws off the others game cause perhaps maybe they wanted to kill it too. I think that if mvp goes under the ks rule it will cause more problems then anything

The fact that these players are well aware of the special status for Ktullanux should also point out that they must have a good estimation of their skill level and damage output. If they are having doubts rather they can safely summon the MvP, then get the items from Ktullanux in order to summon him again in the future, then they should wait until a later time with a stronger, well prepared party. Nobody is forcing anyone to summon Ktullanux at a specific instance, but the player him/herself chooses when the party is most ready to summon it...

Namin? thinks that anyone or any party taking on a MvP should consider the aspect of how to handle "MvP being stolen" as part of the challenge. While the party did hard work to perform the quest, the camper took the time to wait for someone else to summon the MvP for them either. Both sides took the effort and time to try to reach the MvP, so all seems to be fair.


Namin? has different opinions when it comes to Bloody Branches... because donation Bloody Branches (costed money) yet be stolen by others may be painful... but maybe that needs another poll instead.

i think Loki-sama has a very good point - if you were to do this though, i would suggest having the naturally spawning Ktull with lower rates than the summoned one - since he can only be summoned once per person, having everything drop at 100% except the oca makes sense, but for one with a spawn time like normal mvps, he should have drop rates like a normal mvp too

I like that Ktullanux has to be summoned actually ^_^ I don't plan to change that for the time being, but thanks for the suggestion.
