I downloaded the full installer and the june 2008 installer (because the main download from mediafire for the june 2008 installer is DEAD) along with sak_up, and I just give up. Your client is a piece of shit.

Are you trying to run it through the patcher? If you are sometimes that can cause crashes. Also make sure you run setup.exe and configure the game properly to your computer... Also, a screenshot of your RO folder would help, you know?

Sorry, I'm just pissed off because this is the third RO server I've downloaded in a row that doesn't work.

Everything's fine in the setup

Running it without the patcher gives the same error

try turning the sound off along with fog and such in the setup and try again, also try one of the color clients just to make sure.

Also, I apologize you've had such trouble with clients, but what kind of OS are you using? If it's Vista please make sure you allowed permission for the client.

Turning off sound and fog doesn't fix it, and neither do the alternate color clients (or both put together)

Im using XP Media Center 2005, and I'm on an administrator account so I shouldn't have problems that originate from that.

try this client. Other than that I'm out of ideas, by default the full installer has everything that should allow it to run from start up. You might ask him what he did to fix it if this doesn't work.
