You know I was thinking about this the other day, but a big complaint some players have on heRO is a lack of quests for newer or lower leveled players. Many newer players have a difficult time paying for warps for example, but after they pay for that they then lack the funds to buy their basic NPC gears.
So I was thinking, let's make some quests that are of good difficulty for a new player but also are not too easy as to simply be done in 5 minutes. I was thinking these newbie quests could take around 1-2 hours of a person's time most. Perhaps the reward could be some sort of ticket that pays for the warp of that town, to maybe a giftbox to maybe a simple equipment like a buckler or a staff. And if one were to do all these newbie quests, perhaps a few light/dark points could be awarded along with something bigger?
Anyway that was my idea, let's also use this topic to discuss other possibilities for our new players here at heRO so that they can succeed in their earlier levels :D
1-2 hours is long especially since most quests require you to travel back and forth and require money too. But I do agree that something for lower lvls would be fun. A missing pet quest or someone is poor and needs some food or granny needs some apples, carrots, grapes, meat, juices etc.... Something fun but still not TOO easy or time consuming since the aim of lower lvls is also to level up
SuperNatural~ Wizzy
Teot~ The Orange Priestess
FruitLoops~ Smith
Yes I've heard before the complaints that we lack quest for lower level players, I've thought about it a little but didn't come up with anything decent, your post does spawn some ideas however.
I think a traveling quest that makes you go to all starting city and unlock them, and then rewards you with some zeny and perhaps 5 allegiance points could be nice.
Veterans would do this quest quite easily since they have everything unlocked already, but that's the privilege of being here a long time I guess ^_^;
A long time ago, GM-Hermes was in charge of a lower level quest for Bunny Slippers too, but of course since he's no longer a GM, the quest is sort of half abandoned ._.;
Could a small item collection in an early dungeon also be a possibility for a quest? Like Mr. Smile has a small item collection, what about something like that in early game dungeons like Culverts or Payon Dungeon 1 or Orc Dungeon 1?
Sweet, thanks as always for reading! :D
One other thing I forgot is we should probably push for the first class quests a lot more. They give a few gears and all but I mean I always forget about them since RO provides you no directions on where to go for quests XD
Newbies should get those agi up things to they can run to towns easier HEHE.
Nice idea I agree totally (even I have no zeny most of the time)
the warps take money, and to unlock them even more, then you pretty much have to stick to the place you unlocked till you can get more zenny.
Perhaps you should get equipments for the class you are going for? (simple ones of course)
Allegiance points sounds really nice.
I think to start the quest the NPC should be next to the newbie helper in the reception area for training course, then you HAVE to be a newbie to start the quest, and people can't just exploit it.
Mmm I wish I could come up with some more ideas to help, this sounds like a whole lot of fun.
can we make it a roleplaying based quest? (I love those) xD
