I'm very surprised it would work on ubuntu but not on windows, but as long as it works ^_^

Just one more question, I can get iRO to run on Ubuntu but I cant manage to pass the select server screen with heRO since everytime I get "failed to connect to server" message.

Is this a server side or ubuntu side problem?

I'd say its ubuntu with the server, I know playing heRO on linux is not easy, a few have done it, and many have failed, sorry we don't really do support for linux, maybe just transfer your updated hero.grf to your windows computer?

I updated heRO from my windows HD using the Ubuntu OS so it was already patched when I switched to M$ WinXP. Maybe that was the reason for it not working on Ubuntu, it wasnt installed directly on it. Will try installing it and see what happens.

Bleh! It refuses to connect with either version >> that's a shame I really would LOVE to stop using windows T.T

Kirby_Z: I have the same problem as you. Have you tried doing a trace route on both Windows and Ubuntu? It could be that the path is disturbed due to 24.200.225.206 blocking connections.
