Bug Fixes
- Attempted to fix an issue where the Costume Halloween Hat isn't visible on the login screen.
- Attempted to fix issue where winter scarves show as enlarged on the status window, etc.
- Fixed "Void Syndrome" issue with the DB Odin Temple Room.
- Fixed issue where Sir Melot's cutin was huge.
Visual Updates
The following visual effects have been updated or modernized:
- Level Up Angel: is now the new Ragnarok Online one. The Extended Class Angel remains the same, however.
- Holy Light/Holy Attribute Attack: Effect has been modernized slightly.
- Lightning Bolt: Edited it to be similar to the new Ragnarok Online one.
- Thunderstorm: Modernized the animation slightly and removed excessive particle effects.
- Storm Gust: Modernized the visual effect.
- Lord of Vermillion: Redid every visual image entirely. Probably the most complicated change of them all.
- Napalm Vulcan: Added a visual effect. It's minimalistic but noticeable due to the fact the game uses one of the effect for every target hit, which can become a bit flashy and laggy if you mob large amounts of targets.
- Bowling Bash: While the skill animation remains nearly identical, instead of using the shockwave trap lines like too many of the game's skills do, it uses a golden "slash" instead.
- Holy Cross: Changed the colors to that of the light allegiance.
- Pressure/Kyrie Eleison/Assumptio/Gospel: Updated the cross used for these skills' effects.
- Ice Meteor (Ninja Skill): Modernized the effect somewhat.
- Dragon Fire Formation (ninja skill): Looks like a proper explosion and not an upside down Lord of Vermillion.
- Lightning Crash: Revamped effect and drastically lowered the duration of the animation. The animation used to loop four times and lasted several seconds despite only being a single-hit skill.
- Fortune's Kiss: No longer pixel-y, and slightly more colorful so it differs from "Service For You".
- Apple of Idun: Slightly larger, gold-ish colored, no longer pixel-y white apples.
- Humming/Whistle/Drums of Battlefield/Reverberation: modernized the melody icons.
- Poem of Bragi: No longer pixelated scribblings. It now uses glowing runes of different colors.
- Voice of Siren: Looks like a real heart and not pixel gore. Note that currently no monster uses this skill.
- Chain Lightning: Modernized the skill animation using part of KRO's newer effects. Lost Dragon uses this skill.
- Dark Cross (NPC Skill) / Cross Strike (Ninja Skill): Changed the colors to that of the dark allegiance.
- Magical Attack: The skill's animation has been modernized to not be a simple blue "X". Anubis, Thanatos Dolor, and other mobs use this skill.
- Spirit Destruction (Mental Breaker): Updated the animation to be a small explosion instead.
- Slow Cast: The skill's animation image has been modernized. Notable monsters that use this skill are Necromancer, Rata, and Orcus.
- Poison Status: The pixelated pink cloud on players screen has been removed completely, as the purple color overlay on the player is enough indication of the poison status.
- Silence Attack: Removed some of the excessive animation and left only the "X" part of it, so that it's synchronized with the actual damage numbers.
- Stun Attack/Shield Charge: The skill doesn't use pixelated tiny crappy stars.
- Stun status: Doesn't use crappy stars either and is somewhat more noticeable.
- Sleep Attack/Lullaby: The "Z" was modernized and is slightly more noticeable.
- Sleep Status: No longer a tiny gray "z". All three "Z"s are now slightly more colorful and blink in and out all at once.

File Changes
- Creamy Queen, Taffy, Grass Mutant, Lich Afanasy and Great Demon Baphomet's card icons are now gold like other boss cards, in order to distinguish them from normal cards.
- Added missing combo information to Azure and Verdant Deleter cards.
- Fixed Grayphon card description.
- Renamed "Dark Coelacanth Card" to "Malangdo Coelacanth Card".
- Updated some 1-1 Job skill descriptions to be more informative. Thanks to Roger Hardstone for writing up some of these.
- Prepared new descriptions, etc for the release of a new area today.
- The patcher's "Register" button properly links to the account creation page.
- The game now connects via the usual address after last week's connection issue. It is recommended to delete "clientinfo.xml" from your RO folder's data folder.
Visual Updates
The following visual effects have been updated or modernized:
Monster Skills
- Fire Hit's animation has been updated.
- "Fire Hit 2" has been updated to not look like "Fire Hit".
- Adoramus' effect has been updated to look as if it's hitting a single target.
- Critical Wounds now doesn't use the same exact graphic as Fire Hit, Wide Bleeding, Cart Revolution, etc, etc.
- Wide Bleeding has a slightly newer skill graphic.
Wide Confuse no longer shares the same effect as dragon fear.
- Dragon Fear doesn't look like crap.
- Electric Walk now uses a different, slightly trippier effect (you'll see someday) instead of just a more blue shockwave trap.
- The visual effect of Ice Breath has been updated.
- The skill Petrify Attack (different from stone curse) now has its own animation.
- Poison Attack's animation has been retouched.
- Poison Mist now has a wider area that matches the actual AoE, though it is less visible (it's mist, okay?).
- The (currently unused) detonator skill now has a different effect from Attention Concentrate.
Mage
- Fire Wall's visual effect has been updated.
Crusader
- Spear Quicken now has its own animation.
Ninja
- Lightning Strike has an improved visual effect compared to its last update.
Knight
- Autocounter is now more pleasing to the eyes.
- The Brandish Spear effect on the caster now doesn't use the same 3 graphics used by every single other skill ever (Safety Wall / Service)
- The Brandish Spear Attack seen on the target now has a golden glow similar to other updated knight skills.
- Two Hand Quicken / One Hand Quicken now have prettier visuals.
- Lord Knight's Concentration skill now looks more epic than it has any right to be (try it out!).
- Pierce has a new animation.
- Spear Boomerang uses a new animation.
- Spear Stab's effect has been updated.
Hunter
- Blast Mine now has a more unique look compared to before.
- The Claymore Trap effect is now less dramatic and less like a sparklier fire pillar.
- The visual effect of Land Mine (and by extension Fire Pillar) has been updated.
- Freezing Trap's visual effect has been modernized.
Merchant
- Mammonite no longer has that creepy guy smacking people with a bag.
Blacksmith
- Hammer Fall now looks somewhat more dramatic.
- Weapon Perfection has been modernized slightly.
Sage
- Fire Endow no longer looks like fire hit and "fire hit 2".
- Earth Endow is now more visible.
- Ice Endow's visual effect has been modernized.
- The Endow Tornado visual effect has been updated to not look like a wind attack hit.
Wizard
- Meteor Storm now looks a bit more epic. However, if you want to see the old version, you can use /mineffect for it.
- Quagmire has been updated to be slightly more minimalistic, instead of rising up drastically and making the AoE seem bigger than what it is.

Map Changes
- Say goodbye to Valentine Prontera, and say Hello to Sakura Prontera!
File Changes
- Fixed minor description issues.
- A different BGM now plays in lutia_in02 (Kaldheim Arena).
Sprite Updates
- Added countless new official headgear sprites.
- Added a few custom headgear sprites.
- Added countless new official mob sprites, bringing us almost 100% up to date with kRO mob-sprite-wise (with the exception of "illusion" recolors).
- Added countless new custom mob sprites.
- Added countless new mob sound effects.
- Re-arranged some sprite IDs for better use of our currently limited ID ranges. You may encounter some custom mobs look like "bio lab sorcerers" until GM-Ciar refreshes the database to make these changes take effect.
Visual Updates
- The currently unused Aimed Bolt skill now has a more modern animation, taken from a recent official update for it.
- Chain Lightning now has its proper animation, that was added recently in officials.
- Hell Inferno now partially uses a new official animation that was added recently in officials.
- Holy Light's animation was modernized once more.
- Wind Attack's animation has been modernized.
- Power Swing now has a more modern animation, taken from a recent official update for it.
- Ignition Break, used by Fafnir, now has a more modern animation, taken from a recent official update for it.
- Evil Land now has a new animation, loosely based on a recent official update for it that is unusable currently.
- Added a new map visual effect to be used in The Seer's Dilemma finale and possibly future Lutia Updates.
Fun Facts
In this patch, the following amount of files were added:
- 250 monster sprites
- 133 headgear sprites
- 146 "collection" images (the ones you see when right clicking items)
- 122 .bmp files
- 37 .wav files
- 12 .str files (used in skill animations, etc)
- 11 .tga files
Known Issues
- Snowring still won't show its proper mob ID on @Mi due to a mistake on my part. Sorry!
