[Question] Pneuma mechanics

Hey, I don't know if this is the right place or not, but here goes!

Let's say we have some ranged-attack monster that I get within melee range to. Then, let's say I let loose a Pneuma on the cell I'm standing on. So, both myself and the monster are within Pneuma's 3x3 area of effect. Would the monster's regular attacks still work on me?
