Zeny Knife and Santa Jester questions

I had a few questions I was hoping someone could answer for me.

1.Zeny Knife - With the zeny knife, I thought I get zeny for each kill. It seems to vary from time to time though, 5 or 6 kills I'll get zeny. Is this intentional?

2.Santa Jester - The annoying black bars on the sides of the head, they are finally irking me. I'll post screencaps whenever I get off of work. I was wondering if there will be a re-spriting of it, or if the bars will be removed anytime soon.
