Dude, I'm Asian too, and they took out the kendo stick of whoop ass on me every time I get in trouble, and also the belt at times.
They do do a wonder.
They're like "You're acting like you're ganna do something, go ahead, go call the cops, so I can actually go to jail for a REAL murder!"

My Tae Kwon Do teacher in Korea also took the kendo stick of kick yo ass silly on me when I was 3 years old, full power XO Scarred me for life.
If I learned anything from this, it's that I should not try to take the stick away. "You take stick you hold it. I call police and take you to jail. Have evidence." You just can't sue Asian parents.
Hiding in your room is also not an option. I didn't have a lock on my door for about two years. Then I tried to replace the doorknobs, but she has about 10 keys. I tried to look for them and she caught me. I was trying to hide and got my hand jammed between the doorway and the door.
