Question involving pets and classes...

The problem with third classes is that they're part of renewal, and designed for renewal mechanics. From what I hear renewal isn't really ready yet. Renewal brings a lot of changes. Lots of things would be different, things like formulas for damage calculation. So a server has to consider carefully if they want renewal or not, because its like a different game, you wouldn't be playing "ragnarok online" but more like a game called "ragnarok online renewal" or something that is based on ro but really isn't ro.

So what some servers do since they want to be able to brag about having third classes is implement them without the renewal mechanics. This totally breaks the game since they're designed for renewal mechanics, and totally overpowered under normal mechanics. So this isn't really a good thing to do. Some servers try to adapt by nerfing the third classes so they aren't overpowered, which makes them end up with what should really be called custom classes that somewhat resemble the official third classes, but aren't really. Even the ones who stay with the overpowered official versions are still only semi-official third classes since not everything about third classes are known yet, so they have to fill in the blanks.

But yeah, if I were you I wouldn't be looking for a server that has third classes at the moment. If "ragnarok online renewal" is any good remains to be determined, and even if it is lots of servers will still want to stay as just "ragnarok online" because they want to run a server for the old game, and not the new one. If this server is one of them hasn't been decided yet, and won't be until everything about renewal/third classes is known and out on official servers, not to mention implemented in eathena. Basically the GMs are waiting to see what exactly renewal would bring, and if they like it or not, but they can't decide until they have all the info, and that's not going to happen in the near future.
