Obviously it was a ploy from Queen Pixie and Cynbel so that Lucretia will never trust humans. Such militaristic move to remove all possible alliance of humans with the other faction and thus remove the doubt of Queen Pixie and Cynbel on humans betraying them for Lucretia's side. Nevertheless, such ploy is child's play compared to that I've seen throughout the ages when humans themselves fought each other to obtain untold treasures in what they call guilds.
