Birthday Event: heROic Survival
For another birthday event, welcome to heROic Survival!
Event Time- Saturday 17th 09:00 am to 10:30 am
- Countdown timer
- You MAY join half way through the event, provided that the event is still going on
- The event starts on the dot: It's strongly advised for players to arrive early and organize themselves/setup BEFORE the 9:00 am mark
Participation Requirement:- ... None! There is no level range or any restriction as there are no items or exp given out by the monsters on the map directly.
- However, the higher level you are, the stronger you are, which naturally means you can contribute more. That does not mean players who are not lv 89+ cannot help though (but you should probably play more supportive or back row classes then)
- Players must organize their own party as they see fit. If there are more than 18 participants, players must decide on their own how to split up the party in the most advantageous way.
Event Goal
- Players must defend a vendor in the middle of a map (red dot)
- GM will start from any one of possible spawn points (blue dots) on the edge of the map, and try to kill the vendor.
- Players win after 90 minutes have passed
- Players lose if the merchant is dead AND the GM stands adjacent to the merchant's dead corpse
- Prizes are given based on participation, and for how long the players have endured until either the players lose, or 90 minutes are up
Event Details- the GM- The GM is a killable character (demihuman race, variable size by class), with monsters as slaves as if she's in pvp mode. Defeat the GM and all of her slaves will die as well.
- The GM will cheat on the 6 main stats, but no stats will be above base 99 before equipment/class level/job level modifications
- The GM will cheat on max HP and max weight to be above player obtainable numbers
- The GM will be of any class, including some 3rd classes. The GM will use any abilities from that class + monster unique spells, but never use cross-class player abilities unless she has gears that grant such ability.
- The GM's gears are top notch using any theoretically player-obtainable gears, but will not cheat on any gears (except for the GM Ring of Power for a higher max HP)
- The GM can summon anything as slaves, or summon any monsters for assistance on the map
- When the GM is ready to attack, a map-wide announcement is always made that she is on the move at one of the possible GM spawn points
- Upon a GM's defeat, a map-wide announcement is always made
- The GM can summon monsters anywhere (even right besides the merchant), but she will not do so after the map-wide announcement that she is starting the attack. Ambush spawns are only made inbetween the announcement of a GM's defeat and a GM's start of the next attack
- The GM will use any consumables, but will never use yggdrasil berry. yggdrasil seeds or Token of Siegfried
- All strategies, attacks and statuses are fair game: including gear breaks, hell power, or pet/peco/falcon/cart killer
- Only time GM pauses her attack or stops summoning monsters is to switch builds/gears/access her own kafra.
- The GM may walk between her spawn points (blue dots on the map) as if they are unique portals that only she can access, but she will not teleport randomly
- The GM will either engage to fight players or run away towards one of her spawn points if the GM is encountered OUTSIDE of the merchant's main room (red square area). She will not rush past players unless she is in stealth
- Once she's inside the merchant's room (red square area), then she may opt to rush the merchant down and ignore the players if she chooses to do so
Event Details- the Merchant- The merchant is the red dot on the map
- The merchant will NOT be in a party with the players
- The merchant has ~50000 HP, 35 def, 10 mdef
- The merchant has a 30% resist all race as his only % resistance source
- The merchant is immune to knockback, and its gears cannot be stripped/broken
- Note that the merchant CAN die: you don't lose unless the merchant is dead AND the GM is standing adjacent to his dead corpse. Obviously, you should resurrect him as soon as possible.
Event Details- the Map/Players- The map gives no exp, no items but also has no exp penalty for dying
- Map does not allow teleport (including fly wings) or warp memo
- The merchant is standing in the middle of the map, where his room is mainly accessible by 2 entrances
- The event map will be made accessible via a warp near the Prontera church
- Your event map spawn point is the green dot
- If you died (and not ressed by an ally), need to repair gears, need kafra or got disconnected, then it's on you to walk back to the event map. GM will not pause the assault due to these reasons.

Tips and Tricks- Channel discord voice chat will be available
- Be well stocked and prepared so that you can minimize trips you have to take to Kafra. The walk from prontera kafra to the church is a long one.
- As you can freely join the event at any time, you may even want to consider swapping characters half-way through the event as you adapt to the event
- Since the GM will always engage (or run away) if she's encountered outside of the main room (red square area), players may want to have parties that roam often to scout to have more opportunities to fight to prevent the GM rushing for the merchant, but that will dilute the number of players present.
- On the other hand, if the players are confident in their ability to hold choke-points as a team, then there's reasons to huddle in the main room (red square).
- You only lose if the GM is standing adjacent to the corpse of the merchant, so delay tactics such as ankle snares or ice walls are valuable
- Be careful of stealth assassination. Have sight and ruwach ready.
- While the merchant can easily die to ranged attacks, the GM is unlikely to be adjacent to the merchant at that time so resurrect him quickly
- Melee attacks are a lot more deadly since the GM is already adjacent to the merchant by that time
- Once the merchant is dead, the GM will drop all other priorities and try to rush to the body asap
- Sometimes the GM's slaves are just too strong and are nearly invincible, but killing the GM will also kill all of her slaves. Sometimes you may want to rush the GM down.
- Remember that the player map re-entry point is the green circle which is far away from the merchant. GM may leave forces to isolate/spawn camp. You may want to make sure that the path is clear or else dead players/reinforcements will have trouble rejoining the main party.
- Last 15 minute is pure BS: you just have to survive and buy time however possible.
- Be careful of over-reliance on your pet as looter: GM will NOT assist you if your pet got forced to return to its egg and you drop valuables on the ground. You've been adequately warned.
