Placenta's creation thread updated from long, long ago! Icon_biggrin
I've improved! :D
For those who are new, I am an art hobbyist. I draw portrait and still life. I primarily work with graphite pencils (not charcoal >:o), occasionally, I use dry brushing (black-white), white gel pen, black pen, or charcoal. Anything to achieve most realism!
Lately, I've been looking for, and experimenting with different papers.
So, these are some of my newer drawings, and some analysis on them.

This is my favourite drawing this year!
I noticed that men tend to be harder to draw D; due to the short, messy hair and more flawed skin (could be there for women, too)

Also, made a comparison image. Interesting way to notice what I missed. The skin's a bit rough because of the paper I used previously. Now I use Stonehenge paper (250gsm/90lb). For those who don't know, this is Sean O'Pry :DD.
The hardest part in this for me was the skin tone on the right side of his face, and the eyes. It was extremely hard to make the drawing resemble him as close as possible because the model has very unique eyes.

Made this for a competition last year, did not win sadly qq which kinda sucked cause this is the most time I've taken to complete a drawing (About 10-12 hours). Also, I consider it my most detailed artwork thus far. I introduced white gel pen and dark charcoal pencils here.

Tried acrylic painting! :3 Extremely frustrating form of art tbh, but fun for the most part. I guess it's frustrating because I'm so used to the aspects of pencils/pens
i.e pencils: to get a darker shade, press harder, darker grade.
paint: to get a darker shade, less water, wider brush, more paint, etc.
As of now, it's already 90% done, but still incomplete because I suck and am lazy.

I made this drawing for my teacher who left for maternal leave, when i was in highschool. Coincidentally, or non-coincidentally, Rose became her daughter's middle name Icon_smile
This one is another interesting drawing experiment because the petals required really soft strokes. I wasn't allowed to outline most things because it would've end up like a cartoon drawing. Really enjoyed doing this one. :3

Just Angelina Jolie as Maleficent :3 (hi, rj). Fairly simple drawing. The headpiece took far longer than the face. But, it was an interesting learn to draw the leather bits.

Thanks for reading! Kissy
Lastly, my question to anyone,
What should I draw next?
I have not drawn in 7months now OTL
