There is a bus system in Canada. The ones I know are Greyhound and Megabus, a subsidary of Greyhound.

Megabus works only between Toronto-Kingston-Montreal for all I know. If you book early, Megabus tickets can be dirt cheap (19$+). A classmate once got a ticket for 1$+50 cents booking fees as well. (he booked 3 months in advance, I think)

Anyway, if people want to travel by rail, you got Via Rail (Canada) and Amtrak (US). If you have ISIC card, USE IT!
