Alternative routes are fine for large scale battles. Considering we are looking at teams of only 5-7, I'm not sure how to properly balance the map to have multiple paths.

There are numerous ways to make the map more interesting in terms of strategy. I would like to work with something simple to get the system working first before branching out into more complex maps. Once the system is working though, it'd be simple to add in more varied arenas.

As said previously, I'm looking for teams of 7.??And of a basic strategy of 4 people attacking, 3 defending, or 2x2 attacking and 3 defending or w/e with alt routes.??

With only one straight foward path it's going to be everybody on offense moving foward, and when dieng just having to come back to your team as fast as possible.??

But yea getting something to work is where the efforts needs to be put in starting this project so yea I got ur point :l

population will not be a problem for an idea such as this.

woe mechanics and throw in some woe1.0 guardians so sins cant just cloak to the crystal.

Man I love how this idea keeps evolving and changing shape to fit Hero. keep the good work up guys and also i hope this idea gets approved since it would be really fun to have the whole guild in there :D! Guildies Vs Guildies = Fun!

Will more be somthing like teams of ~7, not whole guild. But...

but....

Once its working and great, we could add a variance, with 2 crystal, 2 spawn points and 2 partys of 7?

I imagine later versions for more advanced maps too could have two teams vs another two teams. I am with Rob, would like to start simple and then go more complex after we see how the system works :O

Can't the teamup happen before entering there... like the DB guy allows you to buy the private DB room and only people in the same party as the buyer can enter it, such a script exists, so it shouldn't be hard to add it to the npc.
Actually, you could make it more similar to the DB guy by
a) giving a choice of maps
b) making it accessible 24/7. Once two parties have entered a "practice session" starts, that gives no or only a little reward and is jff or for practice, while the "real thing" happens twice a week, or even daily, as you can automate it...
c) charging a fee would be possible as well, nothing too expansive, maybe even some materials to build up the crystals (a bit like for the guardian stones in WoE2. You have to bring 3 Ori and 1 Elu for your team to join or so...

Mr moe says it right.

Requiring a fee to get in items or zeny or both would discourage cheating if set high enough. Of course nothing obscene.

Thats the idea behind the respawn timer. People will have to be careful because if most of their team gets wiped due to a poorly planned attack the opposing team will be able to counter rush them and take their crystal.

As for the issue of cheating, the system could be added initially with no rewards in place. If people are found to be cheating (fixing matches) wipe the BG badges and find another way to work it.
