Everytime I'm in a Day of defeat server (wich is a rated Mature 17+ game) where there is a "no swearing policy" to fit the server for kids, I get into an argument with the admins/mods.

words are words and imo only the meaning and intent behind them matter. swear words are useful in conveyance of tone and context just as things like punctuation, grammar, and caps.

that said, its not completely unreasonable to have swearing rules. just somewhat . you cant know what reasons people have for being offended by certain things, no matter how dumb the reason might be.

RO is PG13 or higher in most countries. Yet the server is G.
I fail to see why we put a G rating, on a game that has the PG13 material still there, untouched.

Once I jokingly said stfu to my girlfriend, we were in an easy mood and she kept teasing me with something stupid i had said about an hour ago. I meant it 100% jokingly, I even said it in english, although we're german. However she felt aggravated and it took me over an hour to calm her down.

Just don't use cursewords or insults. It's not hard at all to say "stop it" insead of "stfu you stupid noob!" (besides it being way shorter )

Ummm my bf's younger bro was playing here for a short time but he gets easily distracted, he was actually 10 at the time of playing!

But honestly that kid has probably heard worse when he useta live with his momma than a curseword or two.
Anyway, dumb rule overall but I enforce it as a moderator because it isn't my job to pick and choose which rules I really do enforce.
